2024 Rivian R1S: They Finally Fixed The R1S! 

We've had our R1S since September 2023 and never going back to a gas vehicle.

That’s also why they’re losing so much money. Tesla managed to cut huge costs while Rivian is still trying to figure that out.

I owned 2 Teslas and they were absolute trash, the battery range was not what was advertised and we constantly stopped to charge. I hated the build quality and could not wait to get rid of them. Lost some money on them but when I test drove the rivian I loved the vehicle.

They are the same. The ‘whole model’ thing is an archaic artifact of a quickly going by ear. In fact, the “2022” has more hardware features than subsequent models. Remember, this is Software. You can ‘upgrade’ to ‘24 features in one OTA.

Same here, but it’s grown on me. I think the popularity with them becoming the new “it” car to have if you’re rich kinda swayed my opinion. Itd be different if no one liked them or bought them.

You do realize that Range Rover is the worst vehicle sold in America according to JD Powers?

The Defender 110 is pretty cool, if only they would have made a Defender 120 because the 3rd row is useless. The Defender 130 looks like a lifted station wagon. I was really close to buying a 110, but the reliability scared me away. The extended warranty was $10K! To your original point though, the split gate rocks.

I have the duel motor performance pack R1S.. It has a range of 400 in normal drive modes, and will “only” do 0-60mph in 4.5s until you put it into sport mode, then it drops to about 3.4s according to my stopwatch.. So it has a much wider range of usage without the extra 2 motors. I don’t think there is really any reason to buy the quad-motor, for that extra 0.3s from 0-60 you have a lot of downsides, much less range, costs $10k+ more, 2x as many motors to have problems with and more current to possibly burn out systems faster..

It’s an amazing off roader too. I mountain bike and car camping before races is so much better than any other SUV I’ve done that in before.

This doesn’t jive. If he waited a year for delivery and got rid of it six months later, that would have been sometime in early 2023. Rivians were selling for about the same as MSRP. How is that “shocking”. Name another SUV that holds its value after 6 months of ownership? Also, what was “frustrating” about owning the EV? Not going to a gas station every week? Not needing an oil change every few thousand miles? Having instant heat in the cabin for the winter?

@@fpartidafpartida Probably just someone who didn't do his research and had no home charging and/or too many fast long-distance use cases.

We want to sell ours after 4 months. Too many visits to the service center due to poor quality control.

tesla is the only american ev maker worth buying. like elon said tesla is in the top of 10 EV makers, the other 9 are all Chinese companies.

That is not overpriced for what you're getting. Most vehicles that have air suspension you're paying 70k or higher. Plus now you're adding it's an off-roading vehicle and towing over 7,000. Again gas vehicle 80k or more. Now let's add horse power. 530 to 830 large SUV pretty sure you're paying 90 over horse power. Range Rover 100k or more. Jeep Grand Cherokee summit Reserve V8 90k. Don't judge a vehicle by just looking at it.
