Sea-fair Hydro's in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's were fantastic. Boats were on the log-boom, people had pit passes, and the shoreline was packed with people starting a 4am. BYOB and picnic lunches with the family. Hot summer day and cooling off in Lake Washington. Whole thing was free to everyone. Now days you're lucky to find it on television. 😒
this will get interesting...U27, a historic number that once belonged to my favorite boat ever. Again, bow high. Dave seems to have to back off to keep this hull from flipping. I wonder if they have other props that could give them more lift in the stern. Had an interesting discussion one day with Ted Jones about the bottom edge of the transom. He was talking about incremental changes to the hull plating under the transom, how an adjustment there could make up to five mph variation in top speed. I would like to see that plane on the new U27, to see how much lift and release off the cladding at the transom.
@@drewhenry9564 Excuse me Andrew Tate is my favorite driver and I'm happy he's leading in the pts. I just don't care about that hull that he is with saying its a madison boat when it sits in Seattle during the off season
Thank you. All the BS that is on ESPN now "professional CORN HOLEING", T-Ball world series, Lawn mower racing. What a bunch of garbage. If you do not live is the Seattle area , you do not get ant hydroplane coverage. Tough to get any NW sports if you are east of the Rockies.
@@clgdswr Your welcome and for sure on allot of commercials. Looks like they have better quality cameras than the Y T coverage. I've got King on the TV and YT on I pad. I figure the TV will have more of the air show.
the log boom sure aint what it use to be !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...................................................it use to be packed ..............
Dont care what boat or what driver it is. They will never again match the excitement of the Rolls Merlin powder boats with Chip Hanauer and the drivers of that era on Lake Washington. These Turbine engines are dull.
