So fun to see you guys back, and some new faces too! Really looking forward to your eventual Q&A, and finishing the missed sections of the PCT. Happy trails!👣🐾👣
Nice shakedown hike and gear review, Joe. Good advice and info regarding the norovirus. Ramdino, the AT report guy, has a video about it with do's and don'ts. He says it's not spread thru the air, so wearing of masks not necessary, but it's spread by touch. He advises not to sleep in shelters or hostels, but to tent, because in shelters and hostels, it's hard not to touch what others have touched. He says not to use privies and not to exchange food or anything else with other hikers. You guys will be hiking the PCT, so you won't have to worry about norovirus, and it should not be around in August when you guys will be hiking. Looking forward to your next video. Happy Trails!
Great to see you out on the trail! The Codgers Japan Fan Club is most excited about your upcoming trek. As always, even before you hit the PCT -- Be safe; keep at it!
Hey Joe, really enjoyed seeing you back on trail although I enjoy it more when you’re hiking with that Marmalade guy! 😂 I’m glad you got a new tent and you cooked me with the offset duo! Remember I was checking them out at PCT trail days and then pulled the trigger and got one once I got back home. Good seeing you on trail brotha!
I'm so excited to see you and no filter (almost) out on the trail. I learned something from this vid. thank you. I'll check into the flextail air pump. Looks lightweight and I need something like that. Unfortunately, I let my REI coupons slip past me. oh well. Meanwhile, I'm very slowly recovering from the 2nd knee replacement out here close to the pct/Hesperia/Silverwood Lake/Cajon pass area. I'm still only able to do about 3 miles max...and definitely no backpacking. But, I"ll take what I can. Also, was thinking ...it's kinda too bad that we (PCT trail people) dont have access to those little sleep huts like out on the AT. hmm...something to ponder. Looking forward to your tales on the PCT again.....take care..
I believe Sawyer does have an add on to their filter that will work for viruses. For hand washing, I will hang my CNOC bag with my filter on it, then have clean(ish) water for handwashing. You can also get powdered handsoap, that won't freeze. I also have a super-light weight dog bowl that I can use as a sink for washing up. Noro is early this year! Which means it may last longer too. Good to see you back on trail No Filter. And you must tell us how Cousin Reggie got named Plasma!
