Ayos bosing! I have the stratic 5000XG and so far it’s been fun and very strong catching with Bonito and Bluefush here in Rhode Island! Good luck on your new reel bosing!!
Where did you purchase the 24' 5000XG? I'm from the US and can't find anywhere that ships to the US! Also, would you say the 5000 is true to a regular 5000 size? I plan on putting it on my 9'6 saltx 2 rod!
@@narpah1525 i purchased mine at the local store. Mine is 23 and the size is between 4000 - 3000. My BG 4000 is a little bigger not too much. Over all it’s a perfect size for my 7’ or 8’ fishing rod.
@@narpah1525 I currently use 4000XG with a 9'9" Okuma Guide Select Pro Rod - model # GSP-S-992M. For me this works well. I also have the SW 5000XG but IMHO it's quite big for the Okuma rod.
Great video. I already have a Saragosa 6000HG but I am looking to downgrade as it feels quite big for my 9'6" SaltX2 Rod. Would you recommend a 4000 or 5000 series in the Stradic SW B? I've heard the 4000 is very light while the 5000 is smooth but can feel heavy at times while reeling - I tried a SaltX 2 4000 series reel that's size felt quite good when paired with my 9'6", but I'm not sure if that size is closer to a 4000 or 5000 in this reel. I mainly do inshore fishing off the coast in the US for striped bass and bluefish.
@@hike_fish_paddle My Saragosa 6k feels too big, and my Kapstan 4000 feels too small and light so I’m looking for a more true to size 5k, but i’m not sure if the stradic 4k is bigger or smaller than a conventional 5k.
Unfortunately 4000 models only offers X-protect - is a three-lipped rubber seal system which is designed to keep low pressure water out of the reel. The grease between the second and third lips resists high pressure water. Besides the rubber seals, a labyrinth construction is added in order to make it waterproof for a much longer time. All of this does not effect the smooth rotor rotation or line roller performance.
@@hike_fish_paddle I’m glad the new Daiwa certa 2024 just came out. I lost all my interest toward shimano after own 3 different shimano stradics fj/fk/ and even saragosa.😭
@@vsonic86 This is my first dig on medium price Shimano. My old reel that I used for 10 years was a Shimano Sonora 4000FA. I have no experience w Daiwa but will certainly look into them specially their new offerings. The Saltiga's though are in another level :)
@@hike_fish_paddle went to a local bait and tackle once. Bought the saltist to try out because all my shimano stradics were all death (line roller bearing issue/can’t crank). I never lock back at shimano again. Own the 14000 saltiga, I love the drag sound of this beast whenever I hooked up a fish. Just bought 6000XH saltiga but I don’t like the drag sound all
