In the midst of the “Silicon Hills” near Austin, Texas, Southwestern University is a place for unparalleled learning experiences and career opportunities. Established in 1840 as the first institution of higher learning in Texas, Southwestern is investing more than $120 million over the next three years in capital projects while embarking on plans to create a liberal arts-inspired community on more than 560 acres contiguous to campus. With applications and selectivity at an all-time high, Southwestern looks to its third century continuing as a national leader in liberal arts education.
Competing in 20 sports in NCAA Division III and a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and the American Southwest Conference, the Pirates have won championships in football, baseball, softball, volleyball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s swimming and diving.
