ALL Wifi routers MUST be mounted in the center and at the top ( inside ) of the vehicle. Placing any wifi router, including a starlink wifi router that far back behind that many electrical wires... significantly reduces the proper function of wifi due to degradation of a wifi signal.
Thank you for the info. The required range only needs to be maybe 15ft within the Van. The faraday cage of the van will prevent most wifi signal to be lost to the outside. I installed the ethernet splitter from starlink to offer the hookup of a external repeater if required.
Excellent......i am planning to use Ecoflow kit also but have not seen many vans installed with it.........All upper l-track can be removed or adjusted I assume ?
You are going to love the ecoflow power kit. The previous van I built was all victron components. So much more wiring. Power Kit makes it really easy. The upper L-track is fix in place, but you can move the cabinets wherever you like. I am in the process of adding a shower :) ...
Clean, organized conversation. It doesn’t look complicated or scary (to many wires) for me. I would buy it if priced correctly. Job well done! I just subscribed 😊
@@ericmoorecowbell Yes it was 8 month with breaks. I think if you would work on it full time you can get it done in 2 - 3 month as well. It just take a lot of time to order all the items in and wait for shipping and availability. I was thinking of maybe doing a ford transit next... :)
@@floriskyland2568 I'm hoping that now we don't have the supply chain issues of just a year ago it won't be as much of an issue 🤞. I'm planning on using Vantopia kits for the build, and Ecoflow or Goal Zero for power. You might think I'm crazy, but I want to do the build in a month 😜 I'll let you know how it goes.
@@ericmoorecowbell Oh wow. 1 month. The only way I can see that happening is if you have all components and items on hand when you start out. Good luck. Yes please keep me posted. Would love to see how it turns out. Thank you!
@@floriskyland2568 just watched your video second time , the workmanship is outstanding, expensive components , I would prefer the shorter 144 sprinter with a standard roof height , solo traveler , but I can be convinced ,,,, do you have a price range ?
@@fiberboss2255 Thank you for watching my video. I have over $170k invested in parts. So around that price would be what I would like to get. I have not used the Van once. It is still brand new. 144 is good too. But you definitely want the high roof, otherwise you cannot stand up in the van.
@@floriskyland2568 thank you for replying, van is truly amazing but not something I would be comfortable with, just too much of a investment to put on the road, I had many expensive toys and the depreciation and operating costs are just to high , as for the roof height the trade off is simple, driving experience , fuel costs, vs actual time one stands in the van, with a skylight hutch I will have a spot to stand straight
