You no longer have to remove your entire fairing to replace your handlebar on the 2024+ Harley Street Glide! This saves about an hour or more on a bar change. The entire replacement took me 2.5 hours.
This video shows how the bars are replaced with the fairing on the bike, the way the Harley service manual explains it.
TOOLS NEEDED:
3/8” drive torque wrench (16-18 ft-lbs)
3/8” drive ratchet
1/4” drive torque wrench (20-81 in-lbs)

T27 bit x 1/4” drive

You can do it this way, unless you go with the 12" bars and need to replace the clutch,right?! I just replaced my bars and took all off.... BTW, thank you for this one. I had to readjust my bars and it took me 15 minutes. Great video,keep them going! Subscribed!

You can still replace the clutch cable and brake line this way. You just remove the p-clip retainers from the top of the triple tree and it will free up the lines to be replaced. There is one retainer for the brake line, and one for the clutch cable. You will need to have a right angle T27 (like an Allen wrench, but a Torx) to get the bolts out. There is not enough room to get a T27 socket in there. For 12” bars, you do not need to replace either line. Removing the p-clips from the triple tree gives enough slack.

Which new bar did you go with? Looks like maybe 2" more rise? Are you happen with it?

I went with the Harley Tallboy bars. They are about 2” taller than stock. Much more comfortable, similar to the stock Road Glide bars.

Great video. If just need to adjust the bars only need to remove that plastic cover and tray? Are those the HD Tall Boy bars? Thank you.

Thanks! To adjust the bars, the service manual state you can just remove the tray, loosen the two exposed clamp bolts (and the alignment bolt if you still have it), make the adjustment, and tighten the two clamp bolts. These are the HD Tallboy bars. About 2” taller than stock.

@@BrandonsHarley sorry one last question. The tall boys wider than stock?

@@gp62902No problem, ask away. The only difference from stock is the height.

is that a grease zerk on the handlebar clamp
@BrandonsHarley
@BrandonsHarley 16 дней назад
Absolutely not. On the clamp itself is a locating screw for use with stock bars. Keep grease away from the handlebar and clamp.
