An extremely and important video on all the buttons on the 2024 Crosstrek. I appreciate these videos because the salesman at our local dealership does not know the difference between a button and a switch. It is too bad your videos are not made available to Subaru dealers for customers to watch. Thank you, Alex for another excellent Subaru video!
The adaptive cruise control is awesome. Just got back from a 4k mile road trip from California to Canada and did 95% of the drive with the adaptive cruise control in my 2022 Forester Wilderness. I just set my speed for about 5-10 over speed limit so that I wasn’t holding up traffic if it was moving faster than the limit, and all I had to do was adjust my distance depending on how fast traffic was moving and steer. The car would slow down and speed up along with traffic.
I was going to ask that question with all the cameras in their, I want to see what it picks up. I never had a dash camera before and spound would really be sweet, for protection.
@@lynnep6088 I pick up my Crosstrek Premium in offshore blue tomorrow. I'm here because reading sucks. 🤣 UPDATE Been googling, YTing, sigh...getting out the manual. So many safety features crap to shut off, BUT everything sets to default every time you shut it off. Traded a 2009 Venza for this. Kind of having buyers remorse, but keep telling myself "I'll get used to it" 😑
Excellent! Thank you. I bought a Crosstrek Onyx (in Canada) which I think is same as Premium in USA, 17 days ago. My spouse watched this video & quite appreciated it. I'm glad that I waited a couple of weeks to view it as I'm more familiar now with the car. The sales rep did a good job of explaining the various controls but it was information overload! So I'm grateful for your effort. Much obliged.
The "PIN button" on the rear gate can also be pressed to lock the car. It functions the same way as the little vertical strip next to the front door handles.
My Legacy lease is due this week and I'm considering moving to the Crosstreck. Worried it might be a downgrade but I guess I'll find out when I test drive it.
I should be getting a Subaru in a couple of weeks. Found a Subaru premium trim that I like, negotiating price. Always had Honda, it will be my first Subaru if all works out.
Just got a 24’ cross trek in sun blaze pearl. It’s the premium and I love it! I’ve had nothing but Toyota’s for the past 10 years almost and this car is a step up in every aspect. I do quite a bit of off road driving to get to my paragliding launch sites and it goes up and down what is basically a jeep trail like it doesn’t even care.
I bought one Friday nite. And yes, I was kinda in panic mode. Traded in 2015 Jeep Compass, so you can imagine it was quite an experience. This helps a lot. Thank YOU!!
I've been a loyal owner of Subaru's since 1984 and just purchased a 2024 Crosstrek Limited. I'm sad that I didn't come across your video's sooner because I would have purchased a different model had I known that no Crosstrek has a power rear lift gate. Please continue sharing your Subaru knowledge and tidbits.
Thank you so much. I just bought this car and felt like after the walkthrough I forgot half of what he showed me ha! I appreciate all the info here and will be saving to reference later :)
Great video as always. I would recommend to everyone who has the fob, getting a cover for it. I got really nice leather protection cover ebay. Given the cost of fobs.I even kept main fob in the plastic zip that cover came in. I know I know, OCD
It may have been updated by now but 5 years ago I got a flat tire while driving my new Crosstrek in Louisiana. The STARLINK system didn’t work because because they didn’t have service even though I was on the main road between New Orleans and Florida. Also there were no Subaru dealers anywhere near so had to go gets mismatched tire.i should add thank you Subaru for not following the trend on emitting a spare.
Infotainment question: can multiple devices be connected at once? Ex. If I have my phone connected to car play using gps (waze, google, etc.) can my wife also have her phone connected and play music?
If you have the time watch all the videos this guy has I learned more watching them then what the dealer could tell me it was like they wanted your money but didn’t want to tell you anything
I just got my 24 Crosstrek and like it a lot. My only complaint is that since I am tall, the center mirror structure is obtrusive and limits my view a bit to the forward right side of the car and road. I wish that were a bit more sleek in design.
What about X-Mode? I have a 2022 Crosstrek and have used it a few times. I noticed it automatically goes back to S/I drive when the road conditions change. It would be great if you could explain the benefits and functionality of X-Mode in a little more detail.
Thank you so much for this video. I just joined the Subaru family and this video was very informative. After watching this, I picked up my car and asked the sales man about the pin and he didn’t know how it worked lol so thank you for that information!
Ours was due in early Sept, it finally arrived yesterday, picking up on Monday am. I cannot believe the Subaru demand in Mi compared to what is produced and sent to dealers. Stopped by a dealer in Bay City Mi on Thursday night and their lot was bare except for a couple used crossteks and a premium outback that I suspect someone had ordered.
I will also come from the Toyota side. Looking forward to buying my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. Congrats Diane and thank you Alex for your time and expertise.
The user's manual recommends using Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH) with Auto Start/Stop. Coming to a full, complete stop will thus shut off the engine and save a little bit of gas while also holding the car for you. It's a nice combination once you get used to it.
Diane, congratulations, you’ll love it, I’m sure. I just bought my third CrossTrek this weekend in Blaze Pearl. I previously owned white 2015 and white 2020. Great cars
Bought a 2024 black crosstrek sport last week mostly due to your videos , boy i love that little muchkin ... thanks Alex. My daughter kind of mimics your lines "if your new to channel, my name is alex :)"
Thanks for posting. Even though my sales rep explained most of those, it was great to have the second tutorial. My rep didn't mention that tail gate car entry, so that was helpful.
hi there! thank you for the helpful video i didn't get any direction for using the reverse camera feature (for someone who has never used a reverse camera) what do the yellow, red and green lines indicate. i am very lost but was able to follow your great video with ease. many thanks!
Thanks for making these videos, Alex. I'm new to Subaru brand and find these very helpful. Maybe you can give an advice on something that many new Subaru owners are probably curious about too: I just got a new Crosstrek and noticed quite high idle PRM that cold engine starts at (~1800) and maintains for about a minute of so before dropping to 1500 and then gradually going down to normal idle RPM. That's when the ambient temp is about 50F. I imagine the time it takes to drop from 1800 to 1500 and then to normal is only going to increase as ambient temperatures go down (where I live winter temps of 10F, 5F is a norm and might even go below zero on a cold morning). At which point it is safe to put the car into gear and drive away if one wants to keep the engine and CVT free of mechanical issues and excessive wear for years to come? - I heard some say that putting your CVT equipped Subaru in gear at high idle eventually ruins the forward/reverse clutches in the CVT, is that really true?
Superb video, Alex. Last week I picked up a 2024 Crosstrek Limited after turning in a 2020 Limited. Not the fondest of some of the controls going digital over mechanical, but this video aleviated some of my concerns. My dealer, #1 Cochran Subaru, has me coming in next week to go over a lot of the items you covered. I'm grateful for your production. All the best this holiday season. "The JJ" SW Penna.
I think my salesman mentioned a face recognition system on my premium 2024 crosstrek. I don't remember that being discussed. Thanks for an excellent video.
I just brought home my second Crosstrek today ('24 Sport) and I am loving it so far! I also have a 2019 premium that my wife drives which we both love as well. The newer one is definitely a step up in ride quality, but both are great cars overall. Used to be a Toyota nut but not anymore! One thing though: I wish I could turn the radio off! LOL. Thanks for the great videos, and also for making me realize this was the car I wanted to buy.
Hi Alex, I really enjoy your videos and they have helped me quickly feel comfortable with my new ‘24 Crosstrek Limited. I may have one idea for storing the key to the optional wheel locks. If you put the key onto the end of the lug wrench that is secured by the styrofoam around the spare tire, it fits of course, and won’t roll around.
I love my new 2024 Crosstrek(bought it 2 days ago) but there's no way I would have remembered everything the sales guy told me about the controls and technology options. Thank goodness for your video (and others). I thought the Owner's Manual would help but there's nothing in it about the radio, cruise control, climate control, etc. How does Subaru think we'd learn all this stuff?
Hello Alex! My opinion is that you are just a super blogger for Subaru!! Please tell subscribers how to change Fahrenheit to Celsius on the Outback 6 2020. Thank you !!!
Hello Alex, I like your videos a lot! I am wondering is it possible for you to make a review and related feature for 2024 Crosstrek base model? As I rarely seem any RU-vidr giving attention on that car! ❤ thank you
Another great video. I learn more about my crosstrek each time. Thank you. I have a 2023 and are there any hidden features? I didn't see a video. Thanks again.
I love my 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. I have watched a few videos, but have not been able to find how to use the navigation rather than using Google. Can you help?
Have to turn on child window locks to keep my dog from opening the windows however, then I cannot operate the driver window. Is there a truck for this??
Hi Alex, can u pls put a video on "How to display the engine temperature and other possible information on my 2023 Forester small display screen. thanks
For the 2024 Crosstrek I had thought that the key fob would ensure that the back door would open up on its own, not from me having to lift it. Am I wrong?
Just took delivery of my 2024 Crosstrek. Love it! My question.. how can I remote start but not have AC turn on? Ive tried everything ive found but it's still on when i remote start. Thank you!
We have a 2023 ascent - not sure if the settings are different but if you turn on the Auto Vehicle Hold in “vehicle control “ settings it’ll stay on automatically. No need to turn it on or add it to front Home Screen. Again, not sure if settings or options are different from the ascent
Thanks so much for the video. Very helpful. One quick question that wasn’t covered in the video: when my German Shepherd comes along for the ride, is there a way to disengage the incessant backseat seatbelt reminder chime?
