The Subaru Global Platform for the 2024 Impreza has been enhanced with 10-percent higher torsional rigidity. A full inner frame construction and additional structural adhesive (from 26.2 feet to 88.5 feet) contribute to better body rigidity and lighter weight. These updates deliver an improved dynamic performance, smoother ride, and quieter cabin.
Standard on all 2024 Impreza models is the latest version of the award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. Automatic Emergency Steering is included on models equipped with Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The safety feature works with EyeSight and Blind-Spot Detection to assist with steering control to help avoid a collision at speeds less than 50 mph.
Introducing the all-new 2024 Impreza
The 2024 Impreza has a starting price of $22,995 USD and comes with an extensive list of standard features including EyeSight Driver Assist Technology; steering responsive LED headlights; dual zone automatic climate control; combination meter with 4.2-inch color LCD; and Tire Pressure Monitoring System with individual tire display and automatic individual wheel ID registration.
A center information display with the SUBARU STARLINK dual 7.0-inch high-resolution touchscreens comes standard on the entry level Impreza. The top screen controls smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and Bluetooth® hands-free phone and audio streaming connectivity; AM/FM stereo; Rear Vision Camera; SiriusXM® All-Access Radio1 and Travel Link® 1; and HD Radio®. The bottom screen provides controls for climate and vehicle settings.
Additional standard features include Auto Stop-Start; power windows with auto up/auto down on front windows; power door locks and side mirrors; tilt and telescoping steering column; keyless entry; security system with engine immobilizer; USB-A input/charging port and 3.5 mm auxiliary input jack in front center console; 60/40-split fold-down rear seat; carpeted floor mats; crossbar mounting points; combination meter with color LCD; and welcome lighting.
The Base can be upgraded with 16-inch alloy wheels in silver finish for an MSRP of $350.
Impreza Sport
With pricing starting at $24,995, the Impreza Sport delivers a fun-to-drive performance feel thanks to the SI-Drive performance management system; 18-inch alloy wheels in dark gray finish; sport-tuned suspension; and a Lineartronic CVT featuring 8-speed manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters.
The Sport trim upgrades from the Base with the SUBARU STARLINK 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system with six speakers; Keyless Access with Push-Button Start; and LED fog lights.
The interior features premium black cloth upholstery with red stitching; rear seat armrest with dual cup holders; USB-C input/charging port in front center console; and a high-grade combination meter with 4.2-inch color LCD.
An option package with Power Moonroof, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and All-Weather Package is available for an MSRP of $1,900.
Impreza RS
Priced from $27,885, the new RS trim comes standard with a responsive 2.5-liter BOXER engine paired with a Lineartronic CVT featuring an 8-speed manual mode with steering wheel paddle shifters.
The top-of-the-line trim builds on the Sport and adds standard features including All-Weather Package; Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert; and Automatic Emergency Steering.
The RS trim offers unique exterior trim elements including RS badging on the front doors and rear hatch; 18-inch alloy wheels in dark gray finish; black finish on the front grille, side spoilers, and side mirrors; and upgraded LED headlights.
The cabin of the RS is further distinguished by gunmetal and simulated carbon fiber interior trim accents as well as sport front seats in black cloth with red cloth bolsters, and carpeted floormats feature the RS logo. The RS also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter handle; aluminum alloy pedals; wireless phone charger; and USB-A and USB-C charging ports in rear center console.
Available exclusively on the RS is a Harman Kardon® 10-speaker system with 432-watt equivalent amplifier, Power Moonroof, and 10-way power front driver seat with lumbar support for an MSRP of $2,070.
The 2024 Impreza will be produced in the Subaru plant in Gunma, Japan and begin arriving in Subaru retailers early summer.

perfect car for people who need AWD, cargo space but don't like/need SUV

Seems like Subie did a great job with the 2024 Impreza, but I can't help but think the 182 hp 4 banger should be the base engine while the RS should have the one from the WRX, even if detuned a bit for fuel economy (say 230-240 hp) Or at the very least have the option of the normal appearance package RS and a hotter version of the RS with turbo, firmer suspension and upgraded brakes.

My biggest gripe with this car, as much as I'd like to have it, is the huge tablet screen, most hvac and radio controls baked into the screen, and kinda slow compared to other cars like civic or corolla. It feels like a distracted driving liability. The biggest offense is that it's portrait(vertical) instead of landscape(horizontal) layout. It makes things like backup camera and navigation (like android auto google maps) display way smaller than they could be. If the defense for big touchscreens with nearly all controls baked into it is that it's meant to be easier for older folks to see everything, at least be reasonable and keep it in horizontal display. This all being said, this isn't a bad car, and I really want to love it. It's not a sports vehicle, or really even truly sporty. Don't expect it to be like that.

I'd love to own another Subaru but I just can't make myself buy a CVT. As long as there are equal or better options available as an automatic or manual transmission, I'll continue to purchase them.

I have to disagree with the value equation. If you could get the base or premium trims with the 2.5L, it would be a fantastic value. However (in the US, using US prices), the car is still very hard to find and most are loaded up with the moonroof and HK stereo. This brings the price to about 32K US, which is on the pricey side. A lot of competition in that price range, including Corolla Cross hybrid, Seltos SX with more powerful turbo, 8 speed auto, navigation, moonroof and Bose, Honda HRV, and of course the lower trim levels of the next size class up. It is also within a couple thousand of the CX-30 turbo. Hopefully, when supply eventually improves, RS models without the option packages will be available, and they might even get a small discount. As for Crosstrek vs Impreza, I have a 2019 Impreza. I live in a snowy climate, but never go off road. I actually prefer the Impreza, since I get excellent all weather traction, with better handling and lower step in height for my wife, who is very short and has arthritis. She has a very difficult time stepping up into a CUV. Only one time in 5 winters have I needed the raised ride height of the Crosstrek. Just last spring we had about 15 inches of snow over a couple of days, and although the Impreza was plowing through it, I was dragging the bottom of the car the entire way down the street. Since I didnt want to damage the plastic liner that covers the front underside of the car, I turned around and went back home.

I really like the Impreza RS, had one before. But, getting a blow out in a sketchy part of town, or out in the boonies, with only a compressor ain't fun. Happened to me with my current Acura. Just put a **** spare in the car.
@jbm0866
@jbm0866 11 месяцев назад
Since some Impreza models come with the spare (I think?) it shouldn't be difficult to source one from your dealer parts department. The bad news is they charge an arm and a leg for those things.

In my 2021 I like the manual control knobs for the AC, and I kinda like having an spare tire, and of course an "real" parking break. I don't like the new grill. I do like the marginal gain in power for the engine but if you offered me a an even trade for my 21 Impreza,....Id keep my "manual" Impreza.......🏹🤠👍

I agree regarding the Crosstrek. Too high and not worth the added price. I had 2013 Impreza Limited (worth the extra trim) hatch 185000 miles-saved me from being tboned. I now own 2022 Impreza Limited Hatch. I don't care about the power as much as I care about the handling. I do miss the red speedometer accent light, phone holder, and the change compartment. I did really like the heated seat controls moved forward. Now the heated seat controls are on the screen. With my 4 aggressive snow tires I go with confidence in the snow covered roads. Eyesight is really great and I swear by the blind spot detector. Mercedes could learn a few things from the Suby.

No spare tire with the 2024 Impreza RS? That would be enough reason to not buy an Impreza. What is one supposed to do if they end up with a flat tire where there is no cell service?
@EverydayReviews2022

Not uncommon now for a lot of cars. I believe a lot of manufacturers study’s show that most people even with a spare will use roadside assistance. I don’t disagree with you, just the way things are going.

In Australia these are considered underpowered uneconomical due to the extreme thirst of that engine also very expensive, not popular at all, even Chinese cars outsell this so it's a big thumbs down here, although Canadians like it? 🤔

Very popular in North America, due to it being covered in snow for half of the year. AWD should be mandatory in Canada and the northern US.

Nonsense. I own an Impreza 2022. It's been excellent and the engine is not thirsty at all. It's not the best but it's very reasonable. I get between 6 and 7l /100km on the highway.

it’s the lack of competition here. Finance rates are high for a lot of Japanese brands, no one could afford used or new cars outright. People with money would buy luxury suvs. Lots of people here would buy SUVs. And even with all the anti chinese sentiment with our government, so I don’t think we would ever bring chinese cars into Canada, which is a shame because politics > economy. We don’t have a lot of choice here, which makes this Impreza a good car to buy. Low finance, low lease rates, safe, it’s got tech, AWD with our crappy winters, because our roads here in Vancouver barely have budget to clear the snow, and many hikers and cyclists here which makes this car practical for the hippie lifestyle.
