my local toyota salesman (also a good friend) told me to keep my 2022 with the v6 and avoid the 2024. salesmen are a dime a dozen. good friends are gold.

Thanks for watching and commenting. The one area where the 3rd Gen Tacoma performed well (and possibly better than this 4th gen was off-road). The 3rd gen is like a labrador eating dinner when off-road, couldn't be happier.

Great review one thing I always appreciate is the way you drive off road. I like that you drive them the same way I drive mine not too fast but fast enough to get a little air and show how the suspension handles unlike the other guys who drive them like a grandpa

Your friend’s telling you lies since he doesn’t owe one . I made the change and never looked back..

I own the 24 and have no regrets. I did not want a turbo L4, after using mine daily I am going to possibly get a hybrid later this year.

Pre production video? With all due respect you’re a little late to the party. Trucks are already on dealers lots.

Yup, I test the vehicles when the media fleet gets them to me, I don't have many options in my location. My question to you is, did it degrade the video for you? If yes, how?

@@EngineAdventures It was a good video but just late. No disrespect.

Thanks for the feedback! I just wanted to see if there was anything that bothered you besides that. I appreciate the view and comments!

@@EngineAdventures All good. I’m a devout Toyota man. We own 5 of them presently. Keep up the good work.

Nothing wrong with sticking to 1 brand. Easier to maintain because you're familiar with how they do things.

This limited trim wasn't meant to be taken off roading. I'm pretty sure if it has some capable off-road tires, it would have made a big difference in the test.

It actually performed quite well in this test, especially with it not being an off road trim. Having the right tires for the terrain that you're on is very important, but this test is not about the tires. It is more about the vehicle's ability to transfer torque to the wheels with traction when you have a tire in the air. It doesn't matter how aggressive the tread is, it's not going to assist in climbing the hill.

Hey man, just saw 4runner is on it way with the 2.4L turbo also, do you think it worth it over the V6? I'm thinking on getting a new 4runner, but Toyota will probably continue selling the V6 for some time here in Colombia, I'm just not sure if I should wait for the 2.4L or just get the 4L V6. Any advice on this?

Thanks for watching and for the support. The 4.0 V6 is a solid reliable engine much better than the V6 in the Tacoma. The 2.4 hasn't been out long enough to tell, but I wouldn't have too many reservations about getting that engine. More of personal preference I'd say. If you want easier maintenance and known durability, the V6 is the way to go. If you want more power/torque and wider gearing range, then the 2.4 with the new transmission will be better.

I wish they’d offer a 1794, basically this but with saddle brown leather seats and black instead of chrome. I can dream 😁 I like the idea of the Limited’s fulltime 4wd, not having to keep putting it manually into 4wd would be nice. I think it did well for highway tires.

My favorite transfer case is the one in the 1st Gen Sequoia. Can be in 4 low, but essentially with full time 4wd (makes backing a trailer uphill while turning much easier). Still has 2wd, 4wd full time, and 4wd part time. Benefits are better fuel economy, but full time traction when needed.
