Brother. Your OCD will WRECK you when you start to see this car begin to age with regular wear and tear. I used to be super OCD myself. It's not worth stressing over.
Congrats! A note from my own cybertruck delivery - check the top of your internal white door panels, mine had small indents (you can see by direct lighting from the top). All four of my doors had this issue and it’s on replacement order
Congratulations Chris so glad you got the cybertruck love your channel and can’t wait for future content very jealous here in the Uk as we don’t have them
Dude I’ve been busy and haven’t watched lately and looking to catch up and I’m like WTH. You got a cyber truck. 😯 time to catch up. My sister ordered one and no email yet and we don’t live that far from you.
Awesome thorough video Chris. One thing to point out… there’s no 12V outlet in the center console; it’s a 120VAC outlet. Plus there’s a USB-C port in the center console as well (it’s positioned vertically 🤷🏽♂️)
If R2 has bidirectional charging, I am 100% get it before Cybertruck. It’s cheaper and just as fun. I want that bidirectional feature as my solar battery purpose.
Tesla is known for panel gaps for US models only it seems. Here in Australia the build quality is spot on every time from what I have seen! My M3 is perfect
Making the emergency door release on the rear doors some kind of hidden Easter egg that literally no one will be able to find if they're trying to get out of this thing in a panic after an accident is a pretty serious fail, TBH. The normal release button is very similar to those used on the front doors, which have the manual release built right into them. Absolutely no reason not to just do that. It's stuff like this that just makes me shake my head and wonder WTF Tesla are thinking when they design these things. The Cybertruck also really needs a screen in the rear view mirror. Every single mid-high trim ICE truck out there has it, even though they don't really need it. The Cybertruck needs it, but they decided instead to put it on the center screen...with the 482 other things on there. It's just stupid. Tesla is supposed to be about technology. This is tech they SHOULD have used. And where's the HUD with AR? I mean, this is a "Cybertruck," right? I like the truck, but between the continued garbage build quality, bad design decisions, and the general IDGAF attitude of the company, it's hard to justify buying one, especially at the prices they're asking. It's a hard place to be, really liking the Cybertruck for what it is, whilst despising Tesla for phoning it in...yet again.
6:33 I had damage on mine with the charge port door and trim. A long horizontal scratch. They told me it's "within spec because it's a part that will get wear and tear..." The stainless steel also had a lot of scratches. They said they can't do anything about it. There were really bad scratches on the outer sides towards the middle of the tailgate as well.
how does that little wiper blade do at 80mph while raining? I can imagine how much pressure it will put on the wiper arm and motor? I assume there will be issues with stress cracks and motor overheating in rainy and snow regions!
Congrats Christ! U pos sess the top notch EV in the modern history. Who care the look, cosmetic... Real man want functional and practical use.... Look can last for few months or few years max. Compare to other current EV out there...its like a tank on wheels with unique characteristics. I take the xtra harden, cold roll stainless steel any day for a ride on the road + steer by wires, All wheel steering + capable range extending w battery pack + capable rescue other EV w 240V outlet + bidirectional charging, which capable to use as backup power for yr home. Not many People can understand many the utility application of this Cyberbeast. They only see it as basic transportation. I see it as a multitool in real world... Can't wait to get mine, perhaps next year. # 68+k in waiting list😅
I got the email last week about getting my cyber truck and it’s even on my Tesla with a vin lol as by the Google documents, I’m in the first 24,000. but I think I’ll skip it till the non-expensive version comes out as opposed to this limited edition but I can’t wait to see it in your video
Tesla should do this inspection for all vehicles, its absurd that the consumer should need to do this, ever. it feels insulting that tesla would say "your vehicle is complete, inspected and ready to own" yet not be.
Because they've already waited so long, I wonder how many customers accept those rear panel gaps just because they don't want to be without the vehicle for a few more weeks or months whilst Tesla fix it? It'll be a pity for those early CT owners when Tesla resolve the panel issues for subsequent vehicles and no one will pay the going rate on the second hand market for an early model with large or uneven panel gaps.
Scratches - even deep ones - are not really a rust risk. The rust resistance of stainless steel is inherent and not just a applied surface layer protection such as paint. If it is scratched then the exposed "virgin" steel will automatically oxidise and create a rust barrier (chromium oxide layer). Congratulations on the Cybertruck. It looks epic. Maybe it will come to where I live one day ...in a decade or so :-(
Knowing full well that your overly expensive vehicle is going to have a poor fit and finish still doesn't mitigate the fact that you overpaid for something that has a poor fit and finish.
I am no longer a CT virgin, saw my first two at the local Tesla Service center this morning. The proportions of the CT have to be seen in person. videos just don't give you an accurate sense of the size.
If I’m spending that kind of money for a vehicle, I better not have to go over it like this! This is INSANE and it NOT OK! Stop saying it’s just Tesla. It’s BS! It’s about time Tesla owners stand up and say something because this is not acceptable for Tesla to keep selling these cars with zero quality checks before they leave the factory. Honestly this is really turning me off from wanting to buy a Tesla, especially since there are so many other EV’s out there now with way better build quality with amazing fit and finish.
Every Purchase needs Inspections and traditional auto makers aren’t perfect - speak from on experience. We have to admit that Tesla is always looked more closely which is ok as it drives perfection 👍🏻 enjoy the drive
