The price of vehicles is out of control

20k overpriced. This has SR level equipment, the same ground clearance as a RAV4, horrible fuel economy and no capacity. The "Land Cruiser" grade above this is the same price as the GX. This trim is outrageously priced.

Nissan xterra is going to be like a bomb going off if they keep them priced decently

I love this, it reminds me a lot of the 2000 Land Cruiser that my family and I would road trip from salt lake to Michigan to visit my grandparents. I used to sit in the third row next to my dog who was in his crate. Thank you Toyota for adding vents back there because I remember COOKING while trying to beat all the Pokemon gyms in Pokemon ruby on my red gameboy SP. We ate hard Salami on bagels. I also think one time coming home from Oregon road tripping to see my aunt we tried in n out for the first time somewhere in Northern California.

I would like it if it had a better engine, the 4 cylinder ain’t it for something like this

For a little over 60k you can get a bronco wild track…4 auto, 2h, front locker, nicer interior, bash plates, 35s, more options, fox shocks, removeable top, 6 cylinder. Pricing is off on this.

I had a box in my garage with miscellaneous wires and hoses. This engine bay reminds me of that box.

I like the looks of the land cruiser, but the 4runner is probably gonna be better for the money. The roll down rear window kinda sold me.

Appreciate its still made in Japan, so it at least isn't total junk but.... IT'S STILL JUNK. They are just selling the name. It's a slightly better made tacoma. Which doesnt mean much. Go put that through what the original land cruiser would handle . No. That is not a cruiser. its more like if Walmart made a land cruiser copy that might be how it would come out. Or a Alien Walmart offspring of the weakest in the litter land cruiser. it's a throw away vehicle. Something you would find just outside the toy Isle. No pun intended. Disposable. Not quite as bad as the new tacoma though. Which shocked even me, i didn't think they could make a tacoma built even cheaper and crappier. I was shocked at how crappy my third gen was made. Appalled even. Then the new tacoma came out. Entire new level of low standard quality materials and level of crap . Toyotas fall into oblivion of overpriced trash is really quite impressive. Go Toyota. Such a pity. Landrover turned high tech rubbish, and now the land cruiser name has been defecated on. I have a old school Landrover. I think hear it laughing at my third gen Tacoma sometimes at night. Real quiet, like a whisper ,but its definitely laughing at it. The japanese should be embarrassed at this point. The only positive i see at this point is maybe some of these newer vehicles are made of recyclable materials. Because that's a lot of $h*t to throw in landfills.

Toyota did everything right here. But dealer markups will be insane.

Toyota is smoking crack with these new prices. Most of the new trucks and suvs will sit on lots until discounts come.

I hope the new LC will live up to its iconic reputation of a durable, do anything and go anywhere vehicle. Time will tell.

For the price they should have included power memory seats and a power lift gate.

The hybridization of vehicles means they will not last as long, cannot be fixed or worked on by the average owner, will mean they are more disposable and have less resale and trade in value. This is all by design in an unholy alliance of Big Gov and Big Auto. We are in the early stages of The Cubanization of the US Automobile Landscape, people will be driving 2005 Chevy Colorado's 50 years from now.

Anyone else concerned that Toyota is biting off more than they can reliably chew with all these new vehicles coming out at once with these way more complicated engines? Little leery of a Toyota right now…and this is coming from a fan and owner of 22gx

Reminds me of the late 80’s/early 90’s Landcruisers (and other SUVs) in which we rode as kids - looks great as a base model. Albeit the market’s current climate, I’m thinking it would be a solid value prop @ high $40k to ~$51k. I do find its new placement under Sequoia odd, especially since it shares a platform with the new GX. A 6-cyl option for the higher trims would also be more attractive. Nice “comeback” attempt by Toyota though.

How would you compare it to the Defender 110 from a ride and fit / finish perspective? I really love the 110 interior and overall aesthetics, but the reliability is a bit sus.

7:25 model is a 4WD wagon sounds better than S.U.V. so California region it will. have $1200 more of bs crap and options saw one with $14,995 worth of dealer mark up and dealer installed BS = $73k plus fees

The build quality of the new LC250 should be on par with the new Toyota 4 Runner as they're both built at the Toyota Takara factory in Japan. The new Tacoma is built at a Toyota factory in Mexico. You cannot compare the build quality of the new LC250 and $Runner with that of the new Tacoma.

Toyota needs to give better value to customers. For that price it needs to maintain MTS and SDM and come with 265/70/18 tires. I have no qualms with the cloth seats and lack of bells and whistles but the off road stuff, all of it, needs to remain. I would buy the base and then modify but I can't believe you'd delete MTS and keep the rear locker? In order of offroad - its ATRAC then MTS then rear locker then SDM (if there's not KDSS of course). Mid grade needs E KDSS to be a better value

Great review. Can't wait to see a side by side comparison with the 4runner. Considering the stock tires on the one in the video, what would you recommend would be a good type of tire to upgrade to? Something a little more aggressive but not requiring modifications.

Is it just me or do the wheels/tires look small and not right for the size of the body? I'm assuming you have to go to a higher trim model to get a power seat?? Seems like a miss there.

For the price there asking for this, i would prefer a little more nicer materials inside and not so plain interior. Might just keep my 2016 4runner trail after all. At least she's all decked out for overlandding and still in showroom condition.

Saw the vehicle in Honduras. We get the diesel version and didn’t feel impressed. Styling wise they degraded the Prado. This same basic version in diesel 78 thousand dollars.

Regarding the fit and finish, the 4Runner and Land Cruiser are both built in Japan, while the Tacoma is built in Mexico. I imagine the 4Runner will have the same fit and finish as the Land Cruiser, only with a slightly different layout.

I’m glad Toyota made a vehicle to compete with the Ford Bronco Sport.

Ben that's the 1958. The other model is called the Land Cruiser. There is for this year only the 1st addition model. Better build quality than the 4runner? Really they are both built in Japan! Things built in Japan tend not to have the quality issues!

If I could get that with the v6, basic trim options and at $40k, I would be all over it.

First of all no V8 should be a crime. Second, I can’t trust Land Cruiser reliability. I know a guy named Ben who’s Land Cruiser needs almost 10K in repairs and it’s only 4 years old.

You should trade your wife’s 2021 Land Cruiser for that one!!!!

I'm going to preface this by saying I don't know much about Land Cruisers except they're supposed to be reliable. For that price, that looks cheap as hell. The wheels and tires look undersized, too. When you got to the price my jaw dropped.

4 Cylinder lawn mower sized 2.4 liter pulled from the Karen Rav-4 and Camry… 😂Hard Pass 🙅🏼 It will have way too many future issues with that turbo and being a small engine and too big of a body which it was not designed for. No, too many problems. Only may be usfull as a teen girls mall crawler and not anything else now. I’ll stick with the older Real Land Cruisers. Not these new ones that are just a Name tag only that they hope will sell. 😂

Here’s a thought…The wife drives the green Landcruiser, and it becomes the family car, you drive your Bronco, since it appears you are mostly driving by yourself for work and such, and then use the Jeep for the fun. Then sell the current wife’s Landcruiser. You’ll be set and much less frustrated.

I could buy two Mavericks for what this costs. For Toyota reliability, at least when when the Maverick blows an engine or a battery, for the price Ford gives me a spare Yugo to drive.

Fml I just want every vehicle. I feel like so many awesome cars have been released recently. I'm a huge fan personally of the new bmw i5. I love trucks like this though, 2 door broncos, wranglers, defender 90, lexus gx, etc. I'm a sucker for the boxy retro style That is also imo the best looking toyota steering wheel I've seem to date in any vehiclele, even the shifter just looks badass

I've been a Land Cruiser enthusiast since i could drive. Ive owned all models except a 200 series. The 200 looked like every other suv to me and the price was ridiculous. I got to test drive the first edition today and was really impressed. Beutiful vehicle. The power of that engine blew my mind! Go drive it wothout thinking about it and i believe you will be impressed. The ride was great. Kinda reminded me of the FJ ride, but more dialed in.

58k for a LandCruiser 250 is a bargain people that know car know that. LandCruiser is better than a 80k Bronco in everything

After the initial rush to be one of the first to have one, the Prado LC should settle in to selling about the same number of units per year as the LC200 - maybe 3,000 to 4,000.

1100lbs payload.... this is a barebones 1958 and it legitimately looks pretty "de-contented". I'm thinking Land Cruiser trim will use up another 100-150lbs... premium package another 500-100lbs? Seems one of these with options could be around 850-950lbs payload. That's rough. Everyone saying they'd get a 4Runner.... I'm just questioning benefit of the hybrid. A standard 2.4L 4Runner TRD OR or a Lexus GX550 seem the better choices.
