What about the cargo space compared between both behind the 2nd row seats in both. I can’t believe you skipped over this. You compared behind the 2nd row seat in one and behind the 1st row seat in the other.
I'd go with the old school Honda V6 in the Pilot/Passport before I'd gamble on a first year over-tuned big 4-cyl with an Achilles heel turbo. Chasing the Koreans (or mimicking GM and their 1.2L turbo debacles) to the bottom isn't a business strategy, it's a path to failure and Toyota knew better than to meddle with turbos for more than 3 decades. Why the FAFO approach now? Oh, wait, CAFE standards chasing at the expense of longevity, reliability, durability. I'll pass on this one and keep driving the two 2GR-FE powered vehicles we have with a combined, and problem-free, 350,000 miles before I'll let Toyota gamble with my money. Hard pass. I would trust the 2.5L NA RAV4 engine to take me anywhere though and we've had two Priuses go 200,000 mi with nary a hiccup or battery replacement so I'd gamble on the hybrids before I'd register a take on the turbo.
