I still can't wrap my head around the crazy prices for Pickup trucks. I've always considered them work vehicles, but I suppose a site foreman or owner of a contracting company may be able to justify a Platinum trim at near $100k in Canada..
@Realistick
@Realistick 6 месяцев назад
And it only gets more absurd each year, hopefully there's still regular cab F-150s and W/T trim Silverados so contractors have an option for something large and reasonable.

It is crazy. On the Ford side the Lariat used to be the luxury trim. And it was about as comfy and equipped as a basic economy car. Pricing reflected that, about on par with a mid to highly equipped midsize economy sedan of the day. Now it's mid-grade, marketed as the entry level "family truck" trim (although the new STX trim might take that spot for budget option as the Lariat gets fancier), and is only available in the biggest cab size. The only regular cab size is the work truck XL

Good points. All in all, not bad for the SuperCab 6'5" (I refuse to call it "Crew Cab" - words have meanings). I wish Toyota would now redesign the 2023 Sequoia cluster f# to give it a flat and longer load floor.

Please enlighten me on refusing to call it “ crew cab”

If Toyota trucks can serve in so many Middle East conflicts so well, it is good enough to serve you.

Tacomas. And no, serving as a platform for a grenade launcher in the desert is not the same as a suburban work truck. This is a nonsensical attempt at equivalence.

They won't sell us the Hilux, unfortunately. Otherwise there might well be some non-truck people buying them solely for its reliability.

I feel like they need to work on their capstone trim to make it worth that price because it doesn't do enough. I feel like the SR5 TRD and Limited is a good option. Not sure if the plat is worth it unless you really want real leather instead of leather tech. But one thing that I did not heard mention is that the safety features and the digital camera and 360 cameras come pretty standard on limited trims and in other brands you pay a big amount of money to get those features.

Nice truck, but the price is keeping it out of the driveways of most people in society today. Companies have gone crazy.

Easy way to penetrate the market more: Lower price (a better value is worth something). The full-size truck products are very overpriced. Consider that a basic in white pickup costs nearly $40,000 and is going to be used only for duty it was originally designed and marketed for. It only goes up from there. They are marked up very generously. The most interesting feature of the Tundra is one that gets little to no mention: the rear axle design. Ford, Chevrolet/GMC, Dodge, and Nissan all use a cast differential housing and two press fit tubes. Toyota's rear is an assembly of welded parts. According to Toyota this yields a design of better strength to weight and targets the stressed areas with more material. Likely holds paint (protective coatings) better as well.

In my opinion, this truck has the ugliest front of any pick up on the market.

the most fully loaded 2024 Tundra in canada is 107 000 CAD dollars. and that is before any taxes.

We have a 2023 Tundra TRD Pro. It’s… not bad. But not great. We’ve had several issues with it, which is disappointing as we’ve had many Toyota and Lexus models before with flawless histories. There are currently 7 active recalls on my model right now.
@Realistick
@Realistick 6 месяцев назад
Ouch, 7? New models and platforms are susceptible to recalls but that is excessive. I'm hoping the new Tacoma doesn't have the same issues.
@Wxman9123
@Wxman9123 6 месяцев назад
Are you saying when you go into your Toyota app, there are 7 active safety recalls listed for your VIN? I don't believe that as the most I've got with my 2022 was 2. You're probably including TSB's.

I'm not saying the huge screen needs to be standard, but that 8" is laughable on anything over the work-truck SR.

E-CVT Toyota Hybrids are amazing. This "Hybrid Max" system disappoints in both mpg and power. Also, Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is laughably outdated. Even if they upgraded all models to 3.0, it would still be years behind systems like BlueCruise
@Realistick
@Realistick 6 месяцев назад
It works alright, definitely behind BlueCruise or GMs equivalent, but to be fair, it’s standard whereas blue cruise and most of the more capable systems usually require additional packages!

Why does it disappoint in power? 437 horsepower and 583 ft/lbs of torque, highest power on a half ton, not counting the Raptor or TRX.
@0HOON0
@0HOON0 4 месяца назад
The power is overstated. In the real world, the hybrid is only slightly faster. Maybe 1 tenth to 60 and a couple tenths in the quarter mile.

What's up with that goofy grill? It looks like the entire front end is a grill lol and 70k is ridiculous, I would have no problem walking away from the dealership with a firm grip on my wallet.

@8:39 struggle to hit mpg? Go to settings on dash and use the mpg per trip not average.... If you use average the mpg is not correct. It could take 200 miles of hwy to reset the day before racing.... RESEARCH!!!! I'm sure you didn't reset every trip manually on mpg.. .. I'm getting a steady 21 per day hwy. 16-18 city on auto trip reset.

I own a Toyota, it doesn’t matter with my GR Corolla, it’ll still hit the number with more ease, this is a common complaint with the truck.

Let's understand one thing.. you're complaining about price, BUT compared to any other top 3 trucks you'll get more value AND reliability with Toyota.. id rather pay more to get reliability and more money back on a trade in.. so no it's NOT more money in the next 2-3 years. Research!!
