As far as the cooler not working. I applied 1 half inch foam blue board, all around the Stainless steal intereor of the box and it keeps ice cold now for two days in the middle of summer in the Tennesse Valley. It works great. I am sure if you used 3/4 or 1 inch it would do even better. Real eazy fix and works better than my yeti cooler. It will still work as a trash can if you want but most of the time now I have ice and drinks in it. I bought my boat in 2021 and it has been great. Did not get the double axle and was told at the time it was not available. The only thing I regret. I, however, took a road trip to Florida from Knoxville TN all the way down to the Stick Marsh and several other lakes and back and never had any problems. Being a tin boat and light, I could not tell it was back there and I trailered it with an old Sienna Toyota Van.
Good to know! Have not gone to Stickmarsh, if you get a chance go to Fellsmere! We took our hobie kayaks to Guntersville,Chickamauga, Dale Hollow a few years back. Hope to make those trips again soon!
That is because we never run down the road with electronics installed. We always remove and store them until we launch. So no worries about ram mounts! As far as anyone driving with electronics installed down the highway they are asking for loss/damage due to objects flying into the unit or units coming loose and hitting somebody’s vehicle. Either way not smart. One might even get their units stolen while you run into get coffee at a gas station. So, thanks for your concern!
Nice I stumbled on this video because I'm shopping for a tournament boat at an affordable price it seems to meet all the tournament specs the main concern was is the livewell big enough for 5 bass on each side 10 total
It actually went very well. I would say it was a better experience than any other vehicle or camper purchase. Most other places are so full of bs and creepy sales people with shady sales tactics. Not this time, it was very pleasant. Just ask for the one person who knows the most about bass boats and maybe fishes tourney’s themselves. The back area folks in the boat prep and install shop were also great. Good luck!
Very nice rig, very well equipped, I just retired and looking to up grade boats ,now that you're owned this for sometime and been able to fish this boat what's your honest opinion so far, and about what is your investment with Extras as of your post? Thanks
Still loving the boat, for the lower cost a very good quality. We are still trying to decide if the woven nylon floor is worth it. Once it wears out we plan to switch to sea deck or similar product. About 43k for full set up. Compared to starting around 60k before add ons for a Xpress it’s a no brainer for us.
Thank you for getting back to me Express was one of my other choices well-built but expensive for what you get, I hear that tracker it's about to release a new line, good luck with your fishing Adventures
Love the boat and the upgrades. Been looking at one as well. On the vinyl flooring, have you had issues with it getting really hot on summer days? I've seen that in some boat reviews as a big con for the boat compared to carpet. I like the idea of the vinyl for easy cleanup, etc., but am concerns about it getting too hot in Georgia summers.
Have not had a problem so far, it does get really hot in OK! 100+ is not unusual July - Sept 15. I will say when we picked it up, I went over and felt both a carpet floor and verses our vinyl floor ours was hotter for sure but the carpet was still putting off a lot of heat. It would be interesting to lay a thermometer on both and see how high both get in direct sun at 100 degrees. Honestly, in Georgia I think I would opt for carpet just in case!
Big water as in big lakes in Oklahoma is fine. Big water as in northern lakes with 3 ft swells one should probably never take any aluminum boats. 3 footers like that are rough even for glass boats. It is an amazingly a smooth ride on some 15-20 mph windy days. Great cutting while turning, handles surprisingly well compared to glass boats I have been on. Best part I can take this boats in skinny water and sticks where glass boats owners could only dream to venture.
