Not when it's sitting on top of the sand, flat, and nothing obstructing the shot. Y'all are so garbage saying this is an incredible shot. It's a good shot, nothing incredible about it
You are correct. Saw something on Twitter that showed that he had just a 1.7% probability of getting down in 2 from there. Now add in the fact that it's the 72nd hole of the U.S. Open! Incredible.
It was a good shot. That said, should he have even been allowed in the field at all is the bigger question. Are we trying to destroy LIV Golf or not? Just blacklist them from everything and be done with it. We need to get Rory another major win for the good of the game.
@@sndsilence5504 Early in his PGA career he had some attitude and on-course behavior that rubbed people the wrong way. But he's matured a lot and his RU-vid channel has shown a different side of him that is so much more personable and relatable. I love the guy!
@@PongGod I have a feeling that the golf snobs are the problem there and not him. That’s the culture that drove me away from golf. People that think they’re a cut above because of the sport they play. Distasteful mentalities that I’m glad to see more and more rarely now. Offended old men that are mad the youth aren’t boring. 😂
@@sndsilence5504 That could be a part of it. He's always been a bit quirky and does things in unconventional ways, everything from the one-length shafts on his irons to all the geeky physics stuff he applies to his shot-making decisions. He's definitely not boring and I welcome players who aren't cookie-cutter replicas of one another.
i love how he checks to make sure the lid wouldn't fall off before he lifts the trophy. Didn't want another Collin Morikawa type incident 😄. This guy never forgets any detail at any time. Truly in the moment
When Schauffele made his putt to win the PGA Championship, DeChambeau went straight to him to shake his hand and offer a genuine congratulations. McIlroy, on the other hand, bolted right out with nothing.
I was legitimately excited watching this game today. I played golf for the first time on Thursday and watched the US Open with new intrigue. Amazing!!!
I'm 34 now, I remember golfing when I was 17 hitting a bunker shot from 50-60 yards out for a tap in birdie. One of the best shots of my life. Clutch shot fo Bryson Bravo 👏
That bunker shot is ON PAR with Payne's winning putt in '99 and Tiger's putt in '08 to force a playoff as the greatest shots on the 72nd hole in US Open history! Truly epic.
Way to go Bryson! You showed true heart and skill four days in a row and showed everyone just what a champion does when it’s all on the line. Great up and down on the 72nd hole, along with many other saves made along the way. Good for you!
rory couldn't even shake the mans hand, would have meant a lot to the fans to see him shake hands with the guys he was battling with. and yeah hes upset but a tour vet should be able to put that aside in the moment. it would have been a viral social media moment, instead he will get ripped apart for 48 hrs for how he came up short.
This was kinda expected. Bryson is on a massive form lately, considering the results on the previous tournaments, and how he plays privately, you can actually see on his YT channel. But also, he got a little push from McIlroy and company.
Probably the most amazing par save I’ve ever seen .. the fact that he pulled that bunker shot off, totally impressive, with a seven iron length sand wedge . That was pretty stellar . Congrats, Bryson 🏆 💯 💪 💪 💪
DeChambeau has come a long long way. His personality is way more engaging and appealing, he's a better golfer but he's also become the most liked crowd favorite. He's surpassed everyone including Rory in the USA. Nobody brings the crowd alive like Bryson. The scary thing is he is just getting started.
Besides Bryson, the next happiest guy he got up & down on 18 was the marshall who Bryson's drive bounced off of and deflected it into the horrible lie under the tree branch and beside the root...otherwise it was heading for an open area or near enough the stands to get free relief and an easy pitch
Say what you will about Bryson the guy is great for the sport of golf because he has personality, does things that nobody else is doing (he uses single length irons which is unheard of...nobody has ever done this) and actually interacts with crowds plus he has shown that he CLEARLY is up for huge moments making a 10 footer on 18 in the PGA that he had to have to get a chance for a playoff against Xander and the up and down from 50 yards out of a bunker on 18 yesterday and sinking that 4 footer. Dude is making history.
Rory just instantly left after Bryson won, it just goes to show you Bryson is the better class of person compared to Rory. Bryson went up to Xander and congratulated him after he won the pga championship while Bryson finished second.
Looks like Rory the choke artist just blitzed out to the parking lot without congratulating Bryson - bad look for Rory and the PGA. No class. PGA will not be happy getting destroyed again by LIV - gotta hurt.
This might be the best bunker shot in the history of golf. I have to think about great bunker shots in history, but this is one of the best, possibly the best ever
It’s up there. Tiger’s 3 iron out of a fairway bunker in a PGA championship with an awkward stance is generally regarded as the best ever. Or his Canadian Open bunker shot over water.
@@HughJorgan1 Those are definitely great shots! The Canadian Open shot was spectacular, but I would rank it slightly behind because it was not under major championship pressure. The PGA Championship shot was amazing and is definitely up there
It was the 18th hole on a Sunday at the U.S. Open, there's the triumph right there, holding it together when it's crunch time, do or die. Feel horrible for Rory and others that have come so close in the Majors. Golf's one of the most psychologically brutal sports. It reminds me of the old CBS Wide World of Sports intro..." The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat."
Congrats to Bryson. He pulled off some spectacular shots on the last hole to beat Rory by one shot. Of course Rory feels really bad for missing the small putt on the last hole. Things happen. Interesting turn of events the last several holes of the tournament for both players. Thanks for the video.
Brandel Chamblee is a disgrace, but otherwise was a fantastic US Open with outstanding coverage by NBC. Best tournament of the year! Thanks for uploading.
I was going to feel bad for whomever lost as those two battled it out that entire back nine on a ridiculously difficult track. Fantastic US Open this year and the USGA got the setup just right IMO.
Bryson is a true champion. Rory storming out is a terrible look for someone who’s supposed to be an ambassador for the PGA Tour. Bryson handled his defeat at the PGA with total class. Glad he got his redemption right away. I do hope Rory recovers from this.
That shot out of the sand was one of the best he ever hit, and he knew it. However a playoff with Rory would have been bad ass to watch too, just saying 😎
Immediately following one of the best shots in U.S. Open history, let's hear what the commentary is: Brandel Chamblee: [ silence ] Brad Faxon : [ silence ]
just goes to show how important putting is the balls to hold your nerve. Rory bottled it twice from 3 feet but Bryson got it done on the 18th when he was a big favorite to bogey the hole at least.
Nice to see Rory shaking Bryson by the hand as he walked off the green, ooooppppsss class players would do this.FACT! Bryson gives so much back to the game of GOLF. GOLFING GODS SEE AND KNOW IT IS GIVING FROM THE HEART.
