I say again: To believe that you are going to win is straight up delusional. To believe that you have a good chance to do so (at big events) usually is also delusional except if you're a top 5 player. How about you being able to draw some confidence from the self-belief that you CAN win, even if the odds are stacked against you, and you just being able to be honest and truthful about not having great odds, but at least having SOME odds because you now how well you can play when you're at your best, and drawing some confidence from that. It's not always necessarily a pick between being confident yet totally delusional or not confident yet realistic. If it were, I'd rather be realistic yet not confident than delusionally confident. @@aleksa9957 Us Open has the fastest surface which penalizes his best skill: defense. He looked extremely slow the entire year, everyone gets older, so the US Open doesn't depend on him anymore. If Carlos and Jannik don't make it to the final they can only blame themselves.
