You need to switch traction control off on the sand, otherwise you will chew through the brake pads in half the time. Also full time 4wd is so much more convenient for gravel and even wet roads. Once you've had it you don't want to go back to selectable again.
If you put light coloured grab handles, pillars and roof linings in a work ute you don’t know how to design a work ute! As soon as you get in with slightly dirty hands it destroys the them with stains that you can never remove. I’ve always thought cloth seats are far more comfortable than leather.
See this is what is wrong with automotive review channels. LED lights in general suck, sure they are brighter and look better, but when they fail you have to replace the whole assembly, rather than buy a 2 dollar bulb. I'll take halogen all day for the ease.
Halogens fucking suck. LEDs will usually outlive the car. And if they break due to an accident, the insurance will pay for it. Meanwhile Halogens go out every few years, take more energy, are about as bright as a wet candle and look like shit. Oh did i mention that they go out all the time?
In my opinion the seat base is awful. The side bolsters are too much, CLOTH Ranger seats are better. We need the 4 cylinder petrol engine across the range not just the top spec - until then no sale for me!
The Ranger sold in Australia is built in Thailand. The Ranger is also built in South Africa for other markets, but not Australia. The Amarok is only built in South Africa for all markets.
I own this exact model since last August. The touch screen is very annoying and slow, sometimes you can count till 3 or 4 before it switch to a different page. Aircon with out real buttons is another annoying every day thing. The transmission isn’t amazing first to second gear slips when you accelerate slowly... it slips long seconds, 20 years old Toyotas do much better. Also sometimes give some kicks. Other than that I'll agree. You guys make this car looks perfect when is not..... mhhhhh do you have any sponsor? Have a good day.
Ah thanks Matt the pregnant Jolly Friar - problem with a VW is their turn indicator is on the left hand side of the steering wheel - I owned a VW Golf Turbo diesel manual and this annoyed me when I would approach a corner to turn and often deciding ‘do I flick the turn indicator or change the gear?’ - so that’s a major deal breaker for me unless it’s an automatic - also I wouldn’t touch a VW/Ford knowing their poor reliability, service culture (‘Dieselgate scandal’ which you happily omit) and especially if it’s built in South Africa with a barge pole.
All very good no doubt, but why oh why in the hell would you be tempted to buy anything from VW knowing they’re reputation for throwing you under the bus with warranty and repairs, doesn’t make any sense?
