The issue is that the base model Volvo includes basically everything. Once you spec the Kia up to equivalence, there's only about 2 grand difference. 2 grand for a Volvo instead of a Kia is a no brainer for me, especially since I want all those extras anyway. If you want a true "base" model though, the Kia is your only option.
@electricviking: don't you think that the ex90 interiors are underwhelming compared to the XC90? I am a volvo lover but I really can't stand this dashboard. It's boring, unrefined, dull, desolating, unadorned, squalid, miserable, modest, sad. 120.000€ for a car without a courtain for the roof, can you imagine how bothersome is travelling with the sun always over your head in hot and sunny countries? No shades for the rear windows as well, wich in the xc90 are simply lovely. No four steering wheels, which all competitors offer.
Price in Switzerland for a good configuration (not Max) is USD 135'000.- (CHF 120'000.-) so disappointing... But this price is in line with the current price of the hybrid model XC90 with a similar configuration.
Finally, a real 7-seater for Americans - a big mossie SUV The Kia is another great 7-seater for Americans too My "7-seater" Model Y is a joke - the 3rd row is NOT equipped for kid seats, and there is NO room for your feet. Too bad Elon is stuck selling old-looking 4-seaters....or a stainless steel Mad Max that seats 4 grown Americans and a lunch box. Elon gave up the SUV market....
Those prices are not as high as a I feared. I'm waiting for the UK prices which will inevitably be higher, even though our models will be built in China. If it's around £80k then it would be a great option
