10K oil change intervals is the quickest way to lead your engine to an early grave. Especially on engines equipped with TIMING CHAINS. I change mine at 5K intervals. Oil is cheaper than an engine. Especially a VAG engine.
@@toddjohnson9546 Not the chain you have to worry about. Tensioner, chain guides, etc. You're living on borrowed time. Doesn't matter whether your Atlas has the 3.6L VR6 or the 2.0L TSI engine. I've owned/maintained/driven VW/Audi products since 1975.
What are your thoughts on using an oil extractor versus draining it out the bottom? I saw another video where a guy did it that way. Outstanding video, btw!
Thanks for the great video. Question about the crush washer, when I looked for them on Amazon, it says it doesn't fit 2.0 VW Atlas. Is the following the correct size? 14 mm; OD 20 mm ; thickness is 2.3 mm.

Great video! I am going to dump my oil at 5,000 miles and let them do the oil filter at 10,000 miles. I figure there is no reason the filter needs to be replaced at 5,000 but I don't want to go 10,000 miles between oil changes when I can get oil for like $30.... Juts to confirm, the oil drain plug's torque spec is in ft-lbs and the oil filter housing is in newton meters?
