Looked at search engines and found this to be utterly false. This video was posted to a Yamaha fan boy forum and they saw through it immediately.

Yamaha should make a retro Style of the early XS model but with a 750cc Engine & 6speed gearbox..think it would sell well..

Miss my old XS650 Special had in 78.

Old xs650 was a great bike but desperately needed a sixth gear to cut down vibrations and engine screaming at higher speeds.

The bike looks good apart from the engine, it looks terrible. It must have taken a lot of effort to get it that ugly. I'd much rather have the old one.

Had a red 1972 XS 650. Fun bike, this 2024 XS 650 is not real.

I think it would be easier to use the GX since it also has the XSR's 3-cylinder engine.

Yamaha missed the boat on this new design. They had a winner with the other XS 650 from the 70s. That engine was as close a manufacturer could get without screwing with patten rights regarding that British look. Yamaha should have just added fuel injection and disc brakes and ran with it. That would mess with the competition. Yamahas XS650 from the 70s is a better bike and design retro look. Just Sad!

Retro? Well, retro styling but that engine doesn't look anything like the 1950s British motorcycles that the styling is trying to emulate.

Drum rear brake? This bike is like stepping back 50 years ago. It has the 70's look, all the way.
