👋 In todays head to head comparison, we take a look at the BMW M440i Coupe and the Mercedes Benz CLE450 Coupe. These are both what I'll say, luxury and performance oriented coupes. Each have different trim levels as well depending on the level of performance you want!
For the latest refresh and design for the BMW M440i, the exterior has some subtle differences! The grill has been tweaked slightly along with the headlights and the taillights also have some new technology for the lighting! The interior on this 2025 BMW M440i has a new steering wheel and the curved LCD screen! The 2025 BMW M440i has a great shape to it along with plenty of technology features and this is a beautiful spec with what is offered for this model!
Driving the 2025 BMW M440i is in a sense, a mini BMW M4! This new model does have a slight increase in power over the previous model year and it has an adequate amount of power! If you are looking for a sportscar with luxury, and you want more of a daily driver, the M440i is perfect! I've driven multiple BMW M4's and of course it's the next level in performance and costs a lot more as well! So this is a great next step down, but still gives you a fantastic handling sportscar!
The 2025 BMW M440i Coupe also has backseats that are pretty usable, mainly for more interior storage, but this coupe would be a great daily driver with the added practicality!
The 2025 BMW M440i Coupe has a great new update and refresh and for the money, it's a great competition in this price range and what's available for this luxury coupe!
The 2024 Mercedes Benz CLE450 coupe is a refresh for the model and has a lot to offer! The exterior has a classic Mercedes Benz design, nothing too flashy, minus this red! The interior is really where this Mercedes shows off with all the materials and technology along with the lighting! This Mercedes Benz also has a good bit of power as well! It's going to be very similar feeling to the BMW as far as space goes for the backseats and cargo. But it drives much smoother and softer!
Both would be great options though!

M440i is much faster than 4.4 seconds. Carwow clocked it in at 3.8 sec a few years ago on the xdrive version

Xdrive would be quicker than rwd. I just state what bmw says, I can’t test it real world. It’ll vary slightly.

I had both cars for 24 hour test drives and chose the BMW. I love it. But having either of these cars makes one a fortunate person.

Definitely think the Merc looks dope and really luxurious from the inside but honestly I would choose BMW. Merc as a brand and across most of their cars have lost a lot of the reliability they used to have while BMW is getting better esp with the B58s. I also dont like the huge iPad on the inside of the Merc and know they rattle quite a bit. Ofc the BMW grille has many mixed opinions but I think overall as a package and as a daily driver I would go with the M440i.

Is it just me? But i prefer the Angel eyes DRL on the previous 4 series than the new ones. But interior layout and upgrades is welcome.

hey, awesome video but i want to know if the merc has rear wheel steering if possible. Like do the rear wheels turn a tiny bit into the corner to help with the turn radius or on what models is this option?

I've owned a previous E53 convertible and a M440i xdrive convertible. Between the those two, I think I liked the Mercedes a little better, just my opinion. I have also owned a M4 Competition xDrive convertible. It's a much different animal. I'm interested to see the performance info for the new CLE AMG 53 and possible the CLE AMG 63. Between the two in the video, I like the looks of the CLE better. Again, just my opinion.

I just double checked, there is one! I’d go with that too! But it has way more power and is a lot more expensive. These are the two to compare.

The cle53 has the performance real world of or slightly above the m440 with the price of the m4. 😂😂😂. Everyone knows the b58 is making more hp than bmw claims.

Comparable coupés. Prefer the crisper, sportier BMW. And for the last 50 years or so, “Consumer Reports” has guided my decisions on which product to buy. C.R. named BMW in 2023 and 2024 as the #1 best cars sold in USA. They also said they could not recommend any Mercedes model. Oh-oh!

@@night5091 I think they already did. The C63 didn’t even come to the states and I remember seeing an article saying they are bringing back the V8. The 4cyl was a major flop

BMW just makes better cars. I'm a m440i owner. The car puts down 400 hp to the ground when dyno. BMW severely underrated the power of the B58. I think the cle53 may be slightly faster but it's also a couple of hundred pounds heavier so it will be nice to see in the real world. Interior of the bmw is like a tank, the Mercedes not so much.

Tell that to the pricing of mercedes then. Clearly bmw offers way more for the money. These 2 are priced exactly the same so yes it's a fair comparison.

First of all, you are not comparing apples to apples (M40i to AMG 53 not 450), and even if you did, the BMW would be more fun and engaging (for a sports car) because with this model, they made it ride more comfortably than the last-gen C Coupe but harsher than the E Coupe, so it doesn’t know if it wants to be a sports car or a GT car. Second, you mentioned that the Merc doesn’t have plastic on the lower side of the door, which is incorrect. Plus, the materials have worsened over the years with Mercedes. Don’t get me wrong, it has great design and looks very luxurious, but the luxury stops when you touch anything because everything squeaks. Also, the BMW is built sturdier. So, I think if you want a show-off car that just looks nice, go for the Merc. If you want quality, sportiness from your sports car, and a lower price, I would choose the BMW over the Merc at any price range.
