2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 LT: If Chevy Wasn't The Cheapest Option Could It Still Compete? 

I don’t want half the options, I just want an affordable truck.

I have a 2024 3500 LT with almost every option besides diesel. I really like it, front parking sensors aren’t needed with the front camera. I also got factory wheel well liners. Only downside is the halogen lights kind of ridiculous.

i’ve been watching this channel for a while…. i think i may just go with the 2024 denali ultimate 💯love the at4x but i love the ultimate seats and i can get a 4” lift that’s all i want

Since nothing really changed from 24 to 25, now is the time to deal on the 24’s. I just bought my GMC 3500 Denali which is loaded for $82k. They are knocking off $9k on 2024’s. We all know GMC is a little higher than chevy so someone could pick up a high country 3500 for probably $78-79k all day long.

If you're using it for work, that's just way to expensive, but what isn't today... If you're a soccer mom or buying a 1-ton truck to use as a grocery getter, I guess, though good luck with emissions if you don't actually push the engine. If I'm hauling stuff in the bed over the highway or on the farm, I don't want any of that... I'd buy one with hand-crank windows and a manual transmission if those were still made (stick with what I have for now)... 4WD, ABS, power steering, heat, A/C, and RELIABILITY is what you need, not some boot-up video from a video game console and more apps than you can fit in a phone. EPA needs to be called out on their policies that have ended up super-sizing trucks too. As big as they are today, it's no wonder people need 360 degree camera views to park these things.

What is interesting is they keep upping the GVWR up for these 1 ton diesel trucks to get a good payload number because they keep getting heavier. But the rear GAWR of 7250 lbs which is really a function of springs, axle, wheel, tires, stays the same. Tires seem to be the most limiting factor. With a heavier empty weight, you'll just hit that rear GAWR limit sooner. I'm guessing the max hitch weight of 3200 + lbs shown is due to the rear GAWR. With that number, doing the math with a loaded typical fifth wheel hitch weight of around 23% of trailer weight real world. That gives you about 14k lbs of trailer to work with when you hit the rear GAWR. And that's not figuring any extra weight in the truck. Not anywhere near what the GCWR or towing capacity would indicate. Not great for a 1 ton truck.

700 dollar price increase is still a ton cheaper than Ford and RAM.

Nice truck and video. Value and pricing is very much a product of the current state of the market and what the competition is doing. For the features you get and the money you pay, yes that is a good value. That’s pet peeve of mine when people say “I wouldn’t pay that or that is ridiculous or yadda yadda”. Yeah, I agree on certain aspects of that BUT the reality is if you won’t pay that for this truck, then guess what, you won’t get that truck lol. Anyways I’m pretty sure the wheel liners are available in a couple packages. One for sure is the z71 off road and protection package. And I think there’s another that gives a bed liner and the wheel liners.

For a 1 ton diesel with 360 cameras, all new redesigned interior, front and rear parking sensors, auto lift tailgate, etc…you bet $75k is a bargain. Go look at what you get for $75k with Ford…won’t even get a spray bed liner. People simply don’t realize it’s not the same grille as the 2023. In fact, the only thing that stayed the same were the headlights. I installed LED headlight bulbs and switchback bulbs on my 2024 3500 LT. Super easy and affordable. I can see just as well as the projector LED headlights. Plus, reflector headlights are a lot cheaper to replace than a true projector LED light. I also installed the rear fender liner which looks 100% better. On mine, I’ve added a Cognito 4 inch, 37s and the high clearance steps. IMO the LT front end shown in the video looks more aggressive than the High Country LED version…especially lifted with 37s. The High Country looks nice, just not as aggressive. The one thing I don’t like are the chrome bumpers. But AEV will soon start selling their bumpers and you can buy the black Z71/3500/Silverado badging and black grille bowtie directly from GM. The only wrap you need is on the grille chrome bar connected to the bowtie. Take the cab off, this LT has the same frame, suspension, engine, brakes, transmission, etc…as a $100k High Coutry/Denali.

I don’t need or want all of the options and yes I would buy a w/t custom or Lt because of price and I still feel that those even have options that you don’t need to drive and enjoy the truck but that’s my old school opinion

Very similar to my 2024. Mine has sunroof and captain seats upfront for the same price. Mine does NOT have 360 cameras or parking sensors

The protection package come with the rear wheel well liners.

I’ll wait a year for some rich boy to trade it in and get it for $50k

Don't need or want half the crap on it how about a sensor on the floor mat to see if I have dust on my shoe and when it quits working the truck want run and has to be towed to the shop

You should be warned the " Allison " transmissions have value body failure and at least two months or more on back order..please dont buy it. I have one and the 10 speeds are junk.

What I find stupid is that you have to get an LTZ for power driver and passenger seat… wtf?

At that price point not only should you get wheel well liners you should get an extra set! Ridiculous
