*Headphone users, I really apologize for the audio, you can fix it on your end by turning on mono audio. For iOS users, go to settings, accessibility, audio+visual, and turn on mono audio and everything will be fixed on your end if you choose to watch. I have ordered a new microphone for all videos starting next week and again, I seriously apologize. My editing software was playing everything back normally so I didn’t notice until it was recently pointed out to me..* Thanks for watching! Black activ here since February, 6000 miles. Same, love this car! Mine had a recall for the start/stop, can cause the engine to go into limp mode. Recall was complete on 7/9/24. This condition can cause engine damage.
I have a 2025 trax active all white, it’s not a bad car, gas is amazing, I live in Michigan n have a tank is usually 20-25 dollars, n bass it decent, it’s completely comfortable, but lane assist I don’t like, there was construction, n lane assistance, made my wheel go completely left, it’s a good car for ur money, n it’s fast enough to get around n to speed a little, I hit 60-70 mostly highway u can go 80-90 comfortably
Great review. Never understood why the backseat not getting an armrest/cupholder setup would be the cost savings GM would use. My guess is that next refresh adds that back in. GM had a fantastic 9sp automatic that was paired with their diesel engine on the Cruze. I wish they’d just use that one as standard. Sadly, they are heading more towards CVTs…bleh.
Seen this new Marina Blue on an LT a week ago. Very sharp! Thinking I'd love to see this on an RS, which isn't much different, but to see how it plays off the machined wheels.
I'd rather have a honda or toyota car. This "top of the line" is gross. Not top of the line. No HP and the durability isn't close. Chevy, Ford and Chrysler need to catch up there.
If it lasts 50k, it's ok. If it lasts 100k, it's pretty good. If it lasts 150k, with that engine, you're probably lucky. Testimonies of people who haven't even put 20k on their Trax yet aren't really testimonies about reliability.
I wonder why with the Trax makeover that Chevy didn't put interior LED lighting and I think the Trail Blazer also lacks the same. It just makes the interior a nicer look and feel at night.
I bought this truck and 37 days later the a/c went out and now it’s going on 2 months and it still hasnt been fixed and the dealership keeps telling its gm’s fault due to the bad supply chain for their parts
My black activ has the yellow trim on the seats. I think yellow is the only seat trim color available for the activ. My front air vents and trim have a bronze color.
2025 styling gets attention and it’s sometimes mistaken for a Blazer. Definitely not the fastest, with horrible turbo lag. Ok inside room with spacious cubbies. Seats are premium but don’t hold you. You’ll be relying on console for stability.
Probably cheaper to replace the engine rather than replace the timing belts. There should be plenty of low mileage engines and transmissions available in a few years since this model is selling so well. You could probably score a low mileage engine for less than $2k when needed.
Activ and 2RS trims are both top of the line. Only difference is that the Activ has the power driver’s seat while the 2RS has the 19-inch wheels and flat bottom steering wheel.
Still 3 cyl with wet timing belt; don’t keep past warranty, throw away vehicle. It will cost more to service the timing belt than the car will be worth.
@@renztampengco5665 GM recommends 5yr / 50K no more than 80K; because of head design, a special tool is required to lock cams before removing belt. No dealer will give a estimate; some say several thousand dollars, if it breaks the engine is gone. By end of power train warranty dump the vehicle; GM’s reliability is no more, evidence is the fact GM doesn’t offer any manufacturer extended warranty.
I'm a certified master mechanic. The timing belt is made out of a specialized rubber material that is lubricated with synthetic oil. It has a 150000 mile service interval change. This vehicle's engine has steel sleeves in the cylinders and is actually a very well put together engine with adequate power. With the Borg Warner Turbo the vehicle properly maintained should run 200000 miles without any problems other than normal maintenance issues. Car and driver Gave it vehicle of the year for 2024 and 2025.
Great review. If you are trying to replace your SUV with this I think it is a mistake. It is a lifted FWD car and that is fine. Love the looks and the price but to address the “elephant in the room”…..will this car last 100,000 miles or more? Unreliable wet belt timing, turbo, 3 cyl….for me I need to see a review with this car at 80,000 miles or more but if you actually need a car….not want…this could be a nice choice for a few years.
Did you have to order it to get it that way? Dealers around me don't stock the lower trim models much, and when they do have them, they add options that essentially turn them into higher trim models.
@@s99614 Nope, found it at the 3rd dealership I went to (and ironically the closest to me) It was listed on their web site, and the only one they had, and I snatched it.
I've got a black activ 2024, in my opinion I don't consider any of the features BS! I like the simulated leather heated seats! I like the heated steering wheel! I like the driver power seat! I like the automatic climate control! I like the six speakers stereo system! I like the 11-inch infotainment screen! I like the digital odometer screen! I like being able to control everything from the steering wheel! I like the keyless entry, push button start, never have to take the keys out of your pocket! I like the 18 inch rims and tires! I like all the safety features that are available on the activ model! Not to mention in my opinion the activ trax makes the LS trax look like s***! 😮
The base model looks completely different!!! Even the rs models look completely different against the activ. If its looks you are going for then you go for the activ!! It's beautiful
@@angelaborrocci8955 it was the looks of the activ for me. I also like all the options I mentioned. I think the trax activ is the best bang for your money! You can enjoy all the upper level amenities while you own it. You'll get more for it when you sell it because of all the amenities! I never buy base model cars, in my opinion they look cheap inside and out!
With a name like "activ" you 'd think it would have more power. Plus, gas mileage is horrible for having such little horsepower. My Kona n line 2022 has the same gas mileage with way more power. Lol
@@Fyahking619 I didn't mention anything about buying used with 15,000 miles! You're loaded Kona with 275 horsepower cost what the cheapest Kona you can buy new. Starting prices is over $25, 000, that's with a 4-cylinder engine. I'm thinking made up story! Pictures?
Actually after looking more, the Kona n with the 276 horsepower, starts at $37.000. I think you're full of s...t! Definitely a made-up story! There's no way in hell you bought a Kona n for $25.000 new! You can't even buy a used one that's wore out with 100,000 miles for that.
@@Red4banger you getting all worked up? I'm full of shit,? I don't buy brand new ones when I can get a used one with 5 to 10k miles for 10k l or less. Lol I used to have lots of powerful cars. I know, I know I'm full of shit! Lol
