Because the basic XL Maverick is the cheapest truck that has been offered in quite a few years. Lots of folks who have not been able to afford a new truck finally can afford an XL. I thought it interesting how fast Ford increased the XL price. Almost as if it had been priced as a loss leader to raise interest then charge the masses more. !

I would drop loot on a new Maverick Lariat if seat memory was available. My wife’s $30k Mazda had it, and the top trim of a Ford model should absolutely have it available.

Ford made the hybrid option a $1500 add-on and then seems to be surprised when people reacted by stepping down a trim level. They could have minimized this by announcing the private offer amounts before order banks opened, but they opted not to do so. A similar thing happened in the transition from the 2022 to 2023 model years, where so many options in the 2022 model year were constrained that it caused people to order minimal options for the 2023 model year in an attempt to get their trucks scheduled sooner (or at all). Ford then discounted the bed divider kit because they has such a surplus. Ford is always playing catch-up and surprised when people adjust their behavior to changing incentives.

I didn’t catch the show live but for your first question I wanted an xl over xlt or lariat because of the interior colors, cost was negligible but still a small factor. To the next point you made, some features should be standard like curse control and more safety features (toyota does it, look at the corolla cross hybrid s). My thought on some of the add on options is that they should all be a dealer installed part unless you need to modify the structure or electrical system, like the hitch with the 4 pin connector. If you want people to order higher trims yes, make some features only available on the higher trim, like AWD hybrids, more and different colors, heated seats, push button start, super cruse availability, or plug in hybrid lariat.

So the fun thing about someone like me? I want the hybrid, will never get a full gas car ever again. But I want some of the tremor/4k package stuff because I use my car for work. Fog lights, front tow hooks, actual engine cover shield, AWD. And I'm actually installing Adaptive CC on my XL. I did choose the black interior because, again, work truck gets dirty and black doesn't show as much. I want some of these accessories to be easier to add later on too, I want to add the converters and they're not so easy to add. Also, wireless AA/Carplay should be a given... I also love steelies so black interior and steelies were a big pull for me 🙂

Funny thing about the Bronco glass falling out is in the early days, they showed one with removable quarter glass. Ford said they wern't going to build it and quite a few were pretty upset. Maybe this is the first step to finally produce it?

They recall negativity has been overblown I’ve had two recalls done on my 23 Mav hybrid and they came to my house ran a software update and they were done in 30 mins

I emailed Tim and Sarah to summarize what was discussed and my thoughts. I suggested that the ST-Line be a different model (the same as the Escape). The ST-Line replaces the Black Appearance Package (BAP) on the XLT and Lariat. It is available with the BAP exterior features and a unique interior. I also suggested that the ST-Line be available with a Bronze Appearance Package (similar to the Mach-E and Mustang). I also suggested the ST-Line try replacing the Navy Pier plastics with black to see if folks are willing to pay to get the black plastics to go with the black interior. If I were the Ford brand manager, I would want to maximize platform (across model lines) sharing and reduce variation as much as possible.

@@sweet1963bug I might not have been explicit enough. I implied that the appearance stuff be reserved for the ST-Line which is the performance version of the Maverick. This is why I suggested it be its own model. Simplify XL/XLT/Lariat while making the Tremor (off-road) and ST-Line (on-road) specialty versions of the Maverick.

@@blue_feather st-line is only an appearance package and never will be a true ST. The ST has appearance , extra power, suspension, interior, etc. They are different

@@sweet1963bug We are saying the same thing. I am using the ST Maverick as the performance placeholder - just like the Edge and Explorer use "ST" to designate the performance version of those models.

For towing the Maverick should offer a extended mirrors, remote mirrors and heated mirrors. Right now they do not even offer extended or telescoping mirrors. Even though you can get remote mirrors for 2500 in the xlt and you can get heated mirrors for 2500 in the xlt luxury package which is $5000 which is cost prohibited. All 3 of these features make towing a trailer much more safely than without.

@@Ljw48 that's not true, why do they offer 4k tow pkg on the xl? Many outdoor or recreational users, have, snowmobiles, campers and boats, where the additional towing is crucial and needed. Many who need more than the 4000 buy either the competition or move up to Ranger or F150 sometimes needing the F250 or F350 depending on the weight they are needing to tow, or haul with increased payload. I think to increase the XLT value and build, Ford should include telescoping mirrors, heated mirrors along with the remote mirrors. Also like other packages only available in the XLT like FX4, Tremor, and Luxury package they may want to offer the increased tow pkg available on the XLT or Lariat trim. This should increase customer satisfaction and increase XLT builds over the xl trim. They also need to increase tow to 5000lbs to be competitive with the competition.

@@HuronRiver-ke8xn I can confirm that Maverick owner's use their trucks for towing. There are MaverickTruckClub forum threads discussing towing with the Maverick. I have towed a 3500 lbs. trailer several times with my 2023 XLT EB AWD with the 4K Tow. As such, I agree with you regarding the extended tow mirrors. I strapped on extended mirrors to improve the view. I would, however, suggest that the 360-degree camera with the trailer camera would work as well.

On the XLT & up, make the interior trim "color" an optional color"S", a little thing for the factory to do, but a deal breaker for some. Or at least make the color choice, a dealer installed no cost option.

They need a Platinum Plus. Same with Ranger. A lot of people want a smaller truck, but want all of the premium features of the top F150. I would have bought a Ranger if it came with 3.0,aunroof, memory features, ventilated seats, premium leather with color accents, 19 speaker premium audio and more.

I am about to pick up XL. from you guys. but thinking I might want to wait till the refresh of the 2025... a feature I would like to see on the XL models is heated seats and steering wheel.

I don't think they'll ever let you add to the XL. XL is supposed to be basic AF. I do believe all of the safety/cruise control options should be open to all trims, other than that, I do believe it's easier on production to have the XL be so basic

I just wish they would double the output and add a PHEV option. If they put in a 7.5 kwh battery and a charge port it could potentially qualify for the $7,500 tax credit.

I appreciate the convenience and visual appeal of my hidden, touch to light-up factory keypad. Dislike the look of the stick-on version keypads though. Bring back the Fusion, my 2013 has been such a great car, except for the lug nuts.....

Orders won't carry over to the next model year. You ordered in the 24MY order bank. If you want a 25MY, you will need to wait for that order bank to open.

I flew out to Long MacArthur last week and picked up my hybrid XLT that I ordered probably 15 months ago. They picked me up at the airport and things couldn't have gone smoother. My salesman introduced me to Tim, and he could not have been nicer. I took my time driving the 1400 miles back to New Jersey in my new Maverick and it was a great adventure. Dealing with long MacArthur was the smoothest dealer experience I have ever had. Most importantly the long drive convinced me that I had made a great decision.

Steelie Wheels on the XL are actually becoming very popular to have! Easy to paint black if you want. I would like a steelie black wheel option.

Any info on build out on the 2024 Ranger Raptor? I read the order bank was already closed on the 2024 Ranger Raptor. Which I am fine with, just trying to figure out when the order bank opens back up for the 2025 Ranger raptor and what date Ford is showing for Job 1 on the 2025 Ranger Raptor.

There isn't a balance out on the Raptor. But your dealer needs an allocation to schedule a Raptor order in their system. A dealer can add as many orders as they want to their order bank but they won't get scheduled without an allocation. We do things differently on specialty orders. We put in the order once we get the allocation given to us based on first come. So the order bank is not closed or balanced out on the Ranger Raptor.

@@longmcarthur Thank you, very interesting. Yea, I imagine my dealer doesn't have any more 2024 allocation for the Ranger Raptor. I am actually shooting for a Q4 delivery time frame so I really felt like that would make sense that it would need to be ordered as a 2025 anyway. I was thinking the order banks typically opened in April/May for the next model year. For most models, it seemed that way in the past. How are you guys treating Ranger Raptor pre-sold orders, MSRP ??? If my local dealer doesn't get me a 2025 Allocation, your only a couple hours away, I can check back with you.

@jdfleetguy28 We are currently $5k over MSRP on Ranger Raptor order. We have only revived a couple. As we get more, that will probably come down. Like on Bronco Raptor, we are at MSRP.

Hard to imagine no split bench seat in the Maverick. I'm betting Ford won't fix it because it's such a strong seller. On the other hand, I'm seeing many complaints about the powertrains on the new Nautilus. I wanted one but passed in favor for a 23 Black Label only because of the V6. Ford is more likely to add a V6 back into the options than putting a split bench in the Maverick.

I ordered a f150 xlt February 6th, production week of March 11th, any idea when dealer may see it? Also ordered 2025 Explorer st line February 6th, any guesses when that may arrive? Thanks!

There are many factors on that. Usually 4 weeks once it ships. The big question is when it will ship, sometimes it takes a couple weeks for inspections and shipping out. F-150s just started shipping out. Many F150s were sitting for 30-45 days waiting to get shipped out. Your dealer can look up the location and status of your order. The Explorer starts production in May and will start to schedule for those production dates next week. I believe okay to buy/ship out is for June.

My only complaints are the map lights are blinding, the brake booster ramp up is unnatural, the speedometer markings are almost useless, and I'm not a fan of the stamped letter tailgate.
