Old guy here. My Road Glide is parked while I ride my new Nightster S. I had a Pan Am when they first came out. Used mine as a Sport Touring bike. Mine was the one with the Wedge Fairing on it, 6 months after I bought it. People thought I was crazy. It's a great bike. The folks who poo poo the Rev Max engine don't know what performance is. My 975 is a high performance machine that handles and runs extremely well.
It's crazy how simple and small the current Softail lineup is. It gets smaller every year. It's basically either performance club style or old school cruiser. We need new models.
1. Bring that rev max cafe racer to fruition. 2. Make chrome cool again, a low rider should be chrome period 3. The digital guages are such a gimmick. Your phone software will always be more up to date than your digital guage as it starts to age. Think of all your old tom toms and garmins that can barely run anymore because theyre so old. Do what BMW does, they have a bike with a built in phone holder because they know its more practical.
Yes a MTF Conversion Model. The question is will it have the bottom surgery or will it still be in tact like Kaytlyn Jenner or as I call her Bruce Jenner the Olympic Decathlon gold Medalist. A Mitt Romney Group paid the Kardashians and Jenners to be on a reality TV show to influence mentally weak Americans. They offered Bruce a new $55 Million contract if he would do the conversion, what a farce! So do you think that Dylan Mulvaney will be the new representative for the new Road Queen Model?
I don't expect to see a 975cc Pan America. They couldn't make it any lighter than the larger 1250cc version. A street version with the 1250cc engine is a great idea!
That’s what I’ve heard as well. Unfortunate because I love the 890 KTM. That size is very versatile. I hope I’m right about the Street Pan. I doubt we will ever get the Bronx but this may be close enough for those that want it.
Yo blip when they coming out with the Bronx 1250...... you're in with Harley and the dealerships you got to know something you're always saying you can't say so much tell this homie
If H-D was smart, they'd collaborate with a local track to release a street version of the Pan America. The track is the largest track in the US, and isn't far from Milwaukee. The street version could then be called the Road America.
Here are what I want to see. - A Pan America ST, a performance road bike. - A Nightster ST with a 1250 engine and upgraded suspension. - All remaning Softail to have a Low Rider ST upgrade like treatment.
Love to see a Road King 117 with a windshield, chrome and all the features (better suspension) of the ‘24 w/o the fairing of course. And… put a 5 gallon tank on a softail that can easily handle two-up.
Yeah the RK just needs chrome. I hope this isn’t the end for that one. Most softails have 5 gal. The only ones I can think of that don’t are the Street Bob and Standard unless that’s what you meant. I’m in a group for the Softail Standard and a guy did a 5 gal tank on it. Very practical but KILLED the look of the bike.
@@throttleblip9854 Very frustrating to have only 2 choices for fairing-less touring platforms. The RK and the Heritage. So many models are form over function now. Great content, BTW. Love the channel 🫡
@@HDFXSB645Sorry. That wasn’t clear. I meant a 5 gallon option on a softail other than the Heritage. The Softail Standard, Custom, Deuce and Fat Boys, plus a few Dyna’s could all handle passenger accommodations and five gallons without major compromises in accessories or aesthetics. Now it’s almost all form over function.
Harley could not come out with anything new and significantly lower their prices and I’d be happy. I don’t care about new bikes that I can’t even remotely afford to be honest. Obviously just my opinion, but as someone who would love a Low Rider St, the $25000 OTD price is a bit much. Half of the people who hate on Harley hate them because of the price of a bike.
You’re right. They don’t even have an entry level bike anymore. 15k plus fees isn’t going to bring new riders into the brand which is what they need to happen. The dropped the touring price this year while giving us “more” in the bikes so maybe the Softails are next??
@FXFBS540 think you missed the point. Harley has always claimed that any bike sold in America would be made here. Yes, I know components are made over seas, but, the majority of the bike has been built here. I don't think Harley fans would react well to whole engines being made overseas.
I just don't think the Revmax bikes sell enough in the US compared to Europe and Asia to be made on this side of the pond. It sucks, but I get it from a business perspective.
Doodle on two wheels did an interesting video about a number of Police & Military operations are switching to electric motorbikes. Based on her video and some of the points mentioned, It opened my eyes a bit to the advantages of EV motorbikes for Police in the cities. One huge advantage is weight. HD's and BMW's are both heavy bikes vs some of the EV bikes.
I'm a younger guy and don't really care for "classic styling". But I loved the look of the Road King Special in Bonneville Salt White. One of my all time favorites from Harley.
All large displacement ADV bikes are better on the road. They crushed the "sport touring" segment without anyone noticing except the manufacturers. Agree, the Hooligan class may create interest in naked sportbikes, but that is a tough segment to bet on.
What Harley-Davidson needs? 1. Bring back the Dyna wide glide with the bobbed rear fender. 2. Bring back the Dyna Low rider. 3. Make an honest mid weight sport bike. 4. Make a true liter super bike. 5. And for God's sake find someone that has the design, and creative insight that Willy G. had. 6. Oh, and stop cheaping out on the build (the changing from the timken tapered bearings come to mind) At what Harleys cost they should be the best designed and built bikes on the planet. But I fear I am shouting in a hurricane, and that Harley-Davidson is destined to shrink to an over priced fashion statement for the rich.
Pan America - largest selling adventure bikes in in 2021 - don't make me laugh! HD sold 2,500 units, while BMW sold over 60,000 GS's! I'm really pleased the PA exists though, it's a good bike to ride and the hydraulic lifters are nice. It's just a bit behind the curve when it comes to other tech like active cruise.
I want a road king ST that has the FXLRST fairing on it keeping that 7in headlight. Most LRST owners are going with touring bags anyway. There’s a big market there to get on a touring platform with a fairing for all those like me who don’t care for having the music and all that on the road and street glides
All the things you are looking for as benefits are drawbacks to me. I don’t want ride modes. I don’t want a computer screen on my bike. I don’t want navigation or any other bullshit. I want a tach and speedo and somewhere to put a key. But I’m not going to buy anything from Wokely-Davidson anyways so I guess it don’t matter. I can’t think of a motorcycle made post 1999 that I’d have any interest in with the exception of the Buell super cruiser. And if that was made by H-D I wouldn’t want it either. Go woke, go broke. No exceptions.
I'd like to see a Road King touring model with a Pan America engine (yes, liquid cooled!), suspension adjustment, and technology (including the digital gauge). Keep the Road King riding geometry, bags, and removable windshield. Harley has to think outside the box..
Why doesn't Harley just go ahead and build that Bronx concept they trotted out a few years ago? That was a good looking bike, and they've already trademarked the name.
Interesting review , I think you are right when you say H-D are going to bring their softails up to date with fully digital guages , as for your view that the CVO ST will remain in the 2025 model line up , that's probably true but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a CVO ST Street Glide. On the Pan America, it would be great if H-D introduce a street version , if it's anything like the custom versions I've seen then a factory version should be awesome.
As a Street Glide fan I'm worried about the future of them. I'm in dealerships several times a week and they aren't moving half the Street Glides compared to the Road Glides. Because of that I'm skeptical of a CVO SG ST but would LOVE to see it happen.
Why not take the left over touring chassis from the Road King and marry that to the Low Rider ST fixed fairing without electronics, front end (suspension and brakes), smaller Bags and Tank with a 117 center cooled or 121 M8 and call it an FXR? It would destroy Indian and any hope Buell has with its Super Crusier. Come on H-D I would pay 25k for that!
Good in theory, hard in execution. An over simplification, but if they sell 5000 of a bike, and split it to chrome and black, they then sell 2500 chrome and 2500 black. That means the components that change colors of, they're buying smaller quantities of two parts vs a larger quantity of one part. Suppliers will charge you more of a part if you buy less, because there are fixed operations times like setting up and tearing down a tool, only to run less of the part that impact part cost, as well as other fixed variables like inventory holding cost, which would increase due to multiple SKUs/Part numbers. All in all, would make the bike more expensive. Only hope would be that the two options would increase sales enough to offset the losses, which would seem unlikely.
They're the same components, just with a different final finish. HD already charges a 1000-1500 premium for Black. So perhaps offering the black bikes in chrome it would reduce the price on those models.
@@FXFBS540 Just saying its not as easy as you'd think. Fork tubes, triple clamps, headlights, handlebars, fender supports, exhaust shields, clutch covers, wheels, intake, center consoles, just to name a few. Now all those parts have two versions of each, which are more pallets that need sperate inventory locations (inventory holding cost per SKU is a measurable cost that can be calculated). Not to mention chrome is more difficult to manufacture without defects than paint, so there's more fallout. etc. Not to mention I'd bet the hourly guys that build the bikes would frequently goof up and accidentally put a black part on a chrome bike... which then needs to get fixed before it ships... or a dealer notices it after it ships. I agree it makes sense in theory, but there's a lot of other moving pieces that probably on paper doesn't make it financially feasible. I'm sure someone at Harley has done the math. I'm with you though. I'd love to see black and chrome versions of every bike.
@@FXFBS540 Also, if they're charging a premium for black, on vehicles that offer both options, that already tells me that there's just not enough customers buying black, so they charge more to make up for what they lose in manufacturing overhead. Frankly if it were me... I'd just buy the chrome then spend a weekend in my garage with a few cans of 2K Automotive spray paint and call it a day lol.
I bought a new 23 Roadglide-ST. I absolutely love my premium bike. I paid a fortune for it but I’m ok with that. I hate these new cheap looking and cheap feeling bikes they have now. I’m keeping this one forever.
I just saw a BMW Transcontinental police bike the other day as a highway patrol bike so this might shock ⚡️ as for Harley the entry level range is killing them. The Enfield 650 Cruiser is extremely popular, the new Indian Sportsters are also very popular. And well the 400-450 adventure bike market is killing everyone, it used to be you walk into a dealer, get a 883, then 4 years a dyna then say a soft tail, retire with a touring bike.
In looking at Trikes , either the Freewheeler or RG3. I could get a descent deal on whats left in stock but wondering if there's going to be nice changes for 2025 so don't want to pull the trigger to soon and regret it.
I'm hoping the change we get for 2025 is a new CEO, or better yet, HD going private. Politic aside, I hope there is a new street version of a Pan Am. Heck, maybe even a super moto
I own a Pan Am and am currently 95% on road, and im also touring on it. You would think im doing something weird, at gas stations traditional HD guys come up to me and ask where im off roading. As if i had to sign a release that said i will only off road a PA! The thing is a ripper, in sport mode i still think its the fastest out of the box HD you can get (maybe the CVO's this year are close?). Im seeing more and more young folks realize this, show what they are doing on social media (and yes the HDPanAmerica instagram account re-posts these), and i think its fantastic. Yea there were issues at first but this is a great bike now that its all figured out. I always wanted to see a PA "bagger". Also, you didnt mention the move for HD to make the RevMax bikes overseas. HD isnt closing the York plant so maybe thats to augment more production of RevMax bikes?
@@MrCoreDemon I own and have built up my streetglide and dyna LRS as performance rippers and I get the performance ideals. But would like to add a Softtail too. I kinda dig the springer for a bar hopper. I'm in the market for a bad boy or deuce right now actually.
I’d love that but I’m skeptical. That would mean having to bump the 117 in the Lowriders to something bigger. Again I’m all for that but I know they move slow on engine increases.
@@slayer04031974 Because the heritage is not a performance bagger and you don't get a heritage to go as fast as possible. The 114 is probably the best engine for the heritage and any other standard cruisier. Plus it'll make it more expensive. That "Why not" b.s. is the same mentality of the people asking "WhY hAsN't HaRlEy PuT tHe 135 On ThE tOuRiNg MoDeLs." Because there's no reason for it. People want HD to put their biggest engines possible on their bikes and then piss and moan that the bikes are getting more expensive.
@@throttleblip9854 The 114 is absolutely fine on the heritage. It is not a performance bagger. You put it up the 117 and everything gets more expensive and everybody's already whining about how expensive they are.
They really need to bring back the Road Glide ST non-CVO for the $30-$32K following the new pricing schedule. Love the look of the CVO just can not wrap around the price… especially since it doesn’t have the CVO comfort / Security features.
Hooligan Pan America is a good idea. Murder out the street bob and bring back the Night Train seems like an easy home run. Also Road King ST would be exciting.
People don't have extra money right now to throw at a new bike. Also a lot of people have made the switch to other brands after being faithful to HD for years. For the price of a new Harley there are so many better bikes out there for cheaper. I'd love to own a new ST but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a new motorcycle. Also unless Harley can capture this younger generation they are going to be in trouble in the future. They should've made the Bronx and offered two versions of it. A entry level smaller cc engine and a mid range bigger cc engine bike.
Buell's were cool especially the Liquid cooled ones as was the Bronx. Sure the Live Wire could have been cool for a realistic price if you live in the City and never wanted to ride more the 45 miles from home.
Hi Blair,In moto America bagger racing Roco Landers # 97 is now racing for Harley this year and won this past week end at the circuit of Americas in race 1 if you need not know before.
Lower prices is about the only thing they should As of now. No one wants screans. No one wants riding modes. We want cheaper prices 20,000 for a softtail is redicolous
I heard HD is going to the EU Intermot bike show in December but I don't know. If so, we may (we can only hope) see new models there. About time HD does something new when releasing new models. Bronx and Bronx ST, both with the 1250 RevMax. BTW, the Pan America is very good off-road and many reviewers have stated better than the 1250 GS when it comes to fire trails. The problem with the PAm is the HD marketing dept and hopeless customer care dealing with 2021-22 model issues. No recalls, instead waiting for owners to break-down resulting in very very bad widespread social media comments. Also, BMW and KTM hold annual offroad events (similar to HOG rallies, only off-road orientated) at least in Australia and New Zealand, but nothing from HD, not even one organised off-road ride at the annual HOG rallies. Where's the incentive for the Pan America, IMO, Harley has killed the PAm.
I really hope they put some pullback risers on the low rider models and a better seat. 90% of ppl are doing those mods. Basically, replicate what they did with the 2024 Road Glide.
Street Pan America is basically a Bronx, is it not? Which would probably sell even worse than the liquid-cooled Sportster / Nightster. A few people will gotta have one and then it’s done. So much stuff in that segment already. Yeah some people customize the PA but they like to do something unique. Doesn’t mean that mass producing the custom is gonna sell very well. So I gotta disagree with your prediction. There’s a reason the Bronx didn’t see the light of day.
You talked about changing the fairing on the trike will modernize it, are you serious? The trike is a 1947 pick up with one front tire instead of two. They have had independent suspension on bikes back as early as 2005 if I can remember, you bought an independent suspension and you added it to a softail and you had a trike independent suspension in the rear. It is 2024 going to be 20 years later and Harley still has that 1950s pick up trike out here.
The RG3 need a different design l dont like the trunk style the tri glide is better suited for distance but I dont like the batwing you idea for the pan american is on point and i would get one
Just picked up a BRAND new Street Glide 265 mi and the MF o-ring at the quick connect is leaking fuel Dealership will cover the repairs, but have a THREE WEEK BACKLOG The MF still has paper plates and I havent even made the 1st fckng payment!! After nunerous videos and forums, this is a very common problem amongst LOTS of other shit!!! Im so PISSED right now!!!
What Harley wont but SHOULD! do 1) Get rid of the Softail Standard and Nightster 975 2) 121s on all Softails. 3) 128s on Road Kings and Limiteds 4) 131s on CVOs. 5) Nighster Special is the now only Nighster model and comes with a 1250. 5) The New round TFT guage on all Softails. 6) Road King and Limiteds stay analog as well as keep the old Fairings 7) Two new models..Bronx1250 and Pan Am hooligan1250. 8) Return of the Vr1000 in limited production for 1 year only soley to compete with the Hammerhead. 9) Return of the Night Train in limited production for 1 year only as a modern classic.
I remember watching these predictions videos last year like it was yesterday God time flys Id love to know if theres a newer lowrider st before i nail down on a 24 model, although i like them just as they are Id prefer no ride modes and the mini screen A cam and a quadlock is all you need😅
When Harley Davidson start being humble everything will come together nicely and run specials. Check on the dealerships around the world sells & see how. Things are going then better Communication with the dealerships and problems.will go away Harley Davidson needs to correct it Scams situations then take advantage of potential sales. The main thing is corporations gotta stop being greedy.
In my opinion this year’s Low Rider with the wrap around fairing will absolutely need gauges on the dashboard, M.P. H and R.P. M gauges otherwise these bikes will stop selling.
