Not sure why Honda does not offer the 2.0 Hybrid engine that's in the Accord & CRV and now Civic..I think it would be a great option to have the same hybrid system in 4 different sizes.
I just bought the 2025 HRV LX and it's been great. Coming from a 2020 Civic SI - I needed an upgrade in storage and something better for long journeys. I don't tow anything, barely used my sunroof I had on my Civic or even 2016 CR-V Touring. I am very pleased with the purchase!
If the Sport offered a sunroof, I do t think they’d sell too many EX-L’s. That’s what holding me back from even looking at the Sport. I’ll wait for the hybrid, I have a 2018 HR-V and right now, not that big of a difference to update to a new one.
Honda releases the hybrid Civic in the US before the hybrid HR-V wasting peoples time. The American market wants more hybrid crossovers and not sedans.
If they replace the EX-L with a Sport Touring trim using the drivetrain from the Sport Touring trims in the 2025 Civic, you get 200 HP & 232 ft/lbs torque, add the leather seats and 9" infotainment screen with the Bose Stereo and it would be perfect for what I would want.
@curiosityredpill7030 Every option added may not seem to cost much for one vehicle, but when you are talking about tens of thousands of vehicles, several items will raise the production cost much higher. People say lots of other cars have other options, but they may not have the quality build, reliability and longevity at the same price point. The new Nissan Sentra SR is really nice with the premium package, but is only 140 hp for a 2.0L engine, and the Jatco CVT reliability is questionable. And the price is about what is expected for the 2025 Civic Sport Hybrid with much more quality, power and performance.
Such a dud of a vehicle. Virtually every other vehicle in this category is a better vehicle now. Anyone that buys it is literally just buying it because it says Honda on it.
Not true although I'm a Honda Fan Boy going back 4 decades. The HR-V interior is much better than others. The dashboard layout controls quality. Honda didn't cheap out on that part. The interior space in dimension also good for its size. Exterior looks are good. My sister says it's good she also has higher mileage 2007 Ridgeline. So about 2 months with HR-V and sister has put almost 4,000 miles on it. It had 30 miles on it when we bought it. I drove it 80miles home. So the rest has been her mileage. It's seen highway with current mileage near 4,000 miles in almost 2 months. No real complaints from sister and she drives faster than I do.
TOO SLOW UPON MERGING IN TRAFFIC AND ON FREEWAY. For the same money you can get a Subaru Crosstrek with a 2.5 and awd and better mileage It's a no brainer
Looks are subjective. I like the HR-V Sport FWD in Urban Grey Pearl with the black exterior emblems. I already know what OEM accessoties and aftermarket items I plan to add to customize it, including something to improve the acceleration without altering the vehicle.
CVT - Continuously Variable Transmission. Instead of having gears like a traditional automatic, a CVT works by essentially allowing for a constantly adapting "gear ratio" which keeps a vehicle in the powerband while also potentially improving fuel economy. They're good units, albeit not very exciting ways to deliver power from an engine to the driven wheels.
I just don't understand why so many car manufacturers have killed fog lights. They round off the front end perfectly no matter the implementation. German automakers are the worst offenders of this. The claim is that they are 'no longer needed', but integrated fog lights are just not the same. But, let's say that they were just as effective, since when do automakers care about style over substance when they include fake air dams, exhaust tips, dummy vents and so on? Fog lights create a certain aesthetic and removing them will always make the front end look incomplete with empty holes even when filled with cladding. This is clearly just a cost-saving measure and most cars or and especially SUVs that just have those 'air vents' in the front give that 'the owner declined the upgraded light package' look from back in the day.
I have a friend who owns the sport. Regarding power he said around town it is fine and can keep up with traffic. But he did say if you are merging into interstate traffic going 60-70 mph, you better time it just right because off the line, it is a dog and borderline dangerous!! Why Honda ?!?!
