2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650 - Metallic Spark Black and Old School Green - 1st Look & Bluetooth Tutorial 

Awesome sauce, brother! I waited for this green color myself. The Furnace Orange/Royal Purple color and the KRT edition color did seem to ship faster to the states than the Old School Green. Not sure if it was a production thing or consumer response that made this particular color slower to arrive to the US. Perhaps I failed to mention that I was referring to this particular color that I bought the 3rd one of. Sorry if I didn't clarify that in the video. I would imagine that state of South Carolina is probably going to buy your color in droves. Especially those Clemson fans! 😂

The Z650 is a bit more affordable, easier to work on and tweak, and lighter in weight by a pound or two. All because of...less plastics. If you're not sure which one to get, think about what your intended purpose is. I could have went either way, but chose the Ninja 650 because of the additional front fairings to reduce buffeting when adding the taller windscreen. Since the seating position and rider aids are the same, and If you can easily handle a naked bike with the extra wind on you, but want the reliability of the engine, I would go the Z650. It's a great riding bike. Just did 400 miles today. Love the color. The orange does pop, too. Nice styling this year for the models.

@@mr.darknight416 Thank you for the comment. I love the 21 model in white! A good friend of mine had one for a while and loved it. He let me ride it and it was a joy. Love the riding position. Typically, I have ALWAYS modified my exhaust. My previous bike was the denim blue 2023 Ninja 400. Bought it July 1st 2023 and put a Leo Vince LV10 slip on on the bike the very next day! Shed weight and had a great sound for a smaller bike. I do agree that I wish the bike had a throatier sound, but with it being a solid, welded design, I just don't see the benefit for myself. The engine itself is darn near bullet proof and has been the same for what....like 20 years now? I knew what to expect when I got it. I knew full well it is a parallel twin with 180° crank and that modifying this particular model is pointless. Especially given the design and having to pretty much gut it to make the change. I'm actually a fan of louder exhaust systems. But...like I said I knew ahead of time what I was getting my hands on. KO actually makes what I think is probably the most affordable aftermarket exhaust system for it and it does produce a great sound. My main purpose for this bike is longer travel and crushing miles. My kids live 5 and 7 hours away and I've got well over a quarter million miles of riding under my belt in the 2 decades I've been doing it. And I'm not going to lie....if I could get a Gold Wing....I would! And ride that bad boy until the wheels fall off of it!

@@PopsRacer61 I am humbled by your comment. I'm rather new making videos and posting them to RU-vid. I will be 51 in November, so I'm just an old dude who likes to tinker and LOVES to ride. Brief history of my bikes: 1992 - 91 Suzuki GXS-E 500 2006 - 06 Kawasaki Ninja 250R 2008 - 08 Kawasaki Ninja 250R (Candy Plasma Blue) 2010 - 09 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 2011 - 05 Suzuki Boulevard C50 (STILL running! GREAT BIKE! My future son in law has it now) 2013 - 08 Harley-Davidson Road King (mainly to shut up the HD boys that I never had one. Very nice for long trips) 2023 - 23 Kawasaki Ninja 400 (sold July 30th this year to go back up in size. Moved out of Georgia to NC and I need long distance performance) 2024 - Current bike The 25 Kawasaki Ninja 650. I have had brief stints of riding the Indian Chieftain and Harley VRod anniversary edition as well but didn't really keep them long enough because I had offers from people to buy them and actually make a buck or two higher than what I paid so no complaints there. 👍 I do think louder pipes get you seen more in traffic which is not a bad thing. But I knew going in that doing it to this bike would just be wasteful spending. To be dead honest with you the main reason I started making these videos was because I really can't find a proper video out there about installing the windscreen that doesn't go into full detail of how to do it. That is a project I plan on doing very soon. I can't thank you enough for the comment and the future support. I would imagine that after I install the power adapter and windscreen I will be done with the initial changes I want to make to the bike so content may slow down.

My first bike I owned with a license was a 1985 Suzuki GSX 750 es 2nd 1995 Suzuki 600 Katana 3rd 1998 Suzuki 700 Katana 4th 2018 Ninja 650 5th 2023 CBR 650 ..the Ninja and CBR I still have and will keep both. My son has the other 2 bikes I mentioned earlier.. I'm currently 63 and retired early 3 yrs ago. But like you I tinker and more. My son has a large 2 car garage that can fit 2 cars and at least 7 or 8 bikes in it. And we currently have 2 JDM CARS ( 1987 Nissan 300 ZX and a 1993 300 ZX).. that we will be restoring for 'Cars & Coffee' events. The '93 is about 70% disassembled sitting on a lift. and the '87 is sitting as well. We are at a standstill as I am moving to the same town as my son, and all my tools etc are packed away currently. the plan is to finish both cars by late next spring/ early summer (in time for some car shows) Once the cars are completed, then I will start on his R6 which shouldn't take very long. When everything is complete I will leave a link with some before and after pics and pics of whatever events we enter ✌- Pops

@@PopsRacer61 Sounds like for a retired guy that you keep those hands busy! My wife and I rent where we are right now and we do have a two car garage....but it's not actually accessible. The landlord/owner uses it and has a good bit of stuff in it. However, the basement is rather large and suffices as my garage to store the bike in easily. Equality impressive resume on bikes as well. I did not ride from 1993 until 2006 because I was in the military and just didn't have a way to store it and didn't want it to sit up. Monday will be the first long-distance road trip on the new 650. About 7 to 8 hours to see my oldest son in southern Georgia. I am anticipating a great ride. Can't wait to see the progress of your projects as they come along. Stay in touch and stay safe! @@nerdragesr3706 Thank you. I have a few more videos of modifications I have already done out there. 1.) Installing swingarm billets 2.) Installing a tail tidy / fender eliminator 3.) Installing the Nelson Rigg tail bag I have filmed but not yet posted installing a stem mount for phones (TerraClamp by Scosche), the OEM 12Volt DC power outlet, and the OEM taller windscreen. I've thought about possibly doing some moto vlogging, but not sure if there is an audience for that. I could definitely use opinions on that.

@@PoppinlikeJr I appreciate all comments. I believe my description says it best. Opinions are just that...opinions. If I were into racing or tracking my bikes then, of course, I would not have bought this. I prefer middleweights myself and I ride with the intent of crushing miles rather than bone crushing speed. Each rider knows what they want. And no...it's not my dream bike for touring. That honor goes to the Honda Gold Wing in my opinion. To each his or her own. With over a quarter million miles of riding under the helmet, I can promise you that I will put 50K on this bike and still never be disappointed or regret my decision to own it.

Pretty stupid comment tbh. These bikes cost less because they are commuter bikes. Calling these "junk" bikes makes you sound like an amateur/moron. the 650s are used in supertwin championships across the world and are some of the most reliable engines/bikes money can buy. Comparing these to i4s is just silly and a completely different category of bikes.

But to respond to your comment, they've been making this engine for 2 decades and it's darn near bullet proof. I bought this because all of my family members that I see often as I can live a minimum of 3 hours away and it's almost all highways without much open road or back road Twisties. I bought it as a true commuter bike and for longer highway travels. I also agree that comparing this bike to inline 4 bikes was pretty pointless. It's like comparing a Chevy Cruze to a Corvette. But this is the internet.... There's always going to be "that guy" in your comments.

@@Jaybone073 Haha yea, it's kinda nice bc they out themselves early so you can just ignore them. I rode a 16' 650 for 3 years before getting an FZ1. It was a great bike and never gave me any problems, up to 62mpg on road trips. Had a full exhaust and custom tune on it. By no means was she slow, and would hit 120 with ease. Who needs much more than that? Sweet bike tho, they just keep looking better and better.
