Stay away from Mercedes GLB series. I bought a Glb250 in 2022 and i sold it last month, couldn't stand it anymore. Six months after picking up the car, the car computer module failed, needed a replacement from new parts shipped from Singapore. Needed two new brake pads at 30k. Two tyres leaked and needed to be replaced. Engine problem when it was only 2 yrs old. Gear box problem right after engine problem fixed. Back light box flooded with water, needed replacement. Every now and then, sensors misjudgement in highway driving, momentarily locked the two right wheels. Last and not least, the service of Brisbane Mercedes is not helpful at all, at one stage, staff there offered a 6 weeks wait for the car service, although I expressed I was concerned about the car safety. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a car! Glad to say goodbye to Mecedes-benz. A reminder not to be fooled by brand names. It means nothing.
I had my Audi repaired and complained to the mechanic about the connectivity issue and jerky engine. He told me that Mercedes A and B series have even worse problems, with frequent malfunctions and high repair costs, coming in twice a year. In comparison, mine was just a minor issue.
Over priced German junk if you ask me. Sorry but Mercedes Benz is a shadow of its former glory. They are so cheaply built nowadays. I’m a mechanic in Melbourne & I fix these things day in day out. They fall apart like you would not believe once they get upwards of 90,000-100,000ks on the clock.
Not sure i'd describe mercedes as typical minimalist interiors lol. They are they kings of gaudy purple lighting and infotainment UI's that look like they're from Windows XP media centre.
One great feature is the ability to have more than one phone connected at once. So if either phone rings the Bluetooth will pick it up. And its Apple Carplay and Android auto wirelessly
Great detailed review of the face lifted GLB 200. I’ve just ordered one in the UK. Would have love a bit more power and all wheel drive but we only get this or the GLB 35 in petrol form and my budget won’t stretch to the GLB 35. I also don’t do the mileage for a diesel version.
Auto lane change only works if you are travelling over 80km/h on a highway. You were doing 70. I have one of these and the amount of misinformation and disinformation in this review is ridiculous! Like you don’t show the kick sensor to open the boot which people are going to use daily but instead testing handling at 130 km/h, exactly the thing a 7 seater SUV is built for! And the how fast it goes in reverse…
Who can you mess up a design of a small car like this. l would understand if the size is too big to make it sexy but a small SUV. There is no excuse for this bad design.
Paul, great review. Unfortunately this is a very expensive car that does not even do all things well. I think I would rather stick with Mitsubishi Pajero Sport... get most of the things done.
Fake exhaust but at least it's not an electric car pretending to be a combustion one!! I will only drive an electric if I have no choice. Combustion engines all day long. I have the BMW Gran tourer but looking at GLB35! Keep up the great work
These are underrated and the 1.3 lt gors well. It has features that a couple of years ago were onpy available on the GLS. The augmented reality in the satnav is an example
