I've owned a GoldStar for a year fabulous bike, personally I've no interest in a scrambler but BSA should make a 650 twin like the A10 Road Rocket i had back in the day. Twins were BSA's forte.
I raced a 441 special that was recreated after replacing everything that was worn out which was everything internal. After dumping the lucas electrical and everything lucas related it was reliable and fast for a 441. Started on the second kick every time. It was stolen after all of that work.
I owned a 1970 BSA 650 Firebird Scrambler for over 30 years. It was a top running motorcycle 20% of the time . The other 80% of the time (lemon) was spent on trouble shooting instead of riding. This new bike would be a dream.
I like both these bikes. Waiting on the BSA's to come to the states. I'm Rich so I can get both the street and dirt version. Rode some TT500's back in the day... Wow! Heavy, and low to the ground. I tried a pokerrun on one in about 92' it fell apart I had to turn back and limp home. Bike was not prepared for serious business. I enjoyed my CL350 scrambler from 71' but it was likely the slowest thing I ever rode on the street... you don't buy these for speed.
I like the stye and look of the XT model , the tubeless tires are a bonus for a dirt bike , plugs can be used with wheel still on the bike . Electric start is the future for all bikes , the starter cover , and fake push rod tube cover plate , are a nice touch . When it comes to Canada then .
I rode the Bb34 and the DBD34 during my scrambling days. Old Goldie’s were pretty reliable under pressure : if the new version ever gets mud splattered, we will see how goodit is.
It can because originals (although more desirable) are super expensive & hard to find. Of course, the purist would never dream of owning one of these above an original. They'd sell their wife into slavery to get their hands on the real thing....😂
I wish these companies who buy these old great names, would leave the great bike names alone! BSA made a mess when they remade the B50 bikes. I races a B50MX and the frame was so bad, I put the engine in a Cheney frame, making it better. I was a kid and didn't learn, I bought a B50SS, promptly put the rod through the bottom of the cases. I got CCM of bolton to rebuild the motor, but using their 580cc big bore kit. Sadly the OIF was shit as I went through two frames; one with the 500 engine and the other with the 580cc. In the end I swaped it for a Mini Ranger Cub three wheel kit car and went racing with the UK AMCA scramble. Putting old names on new bike , is wrong in MY book.
Die sollen erstmal ein Händlernetz aufbauen.Hab selber auf die Gold Star gewartet......fahre jetzt das bessere Classicbike...Royal Enfield Interceptor......😍
If this is going to be of the same standard as the Royal Enfield owned by an Indian Company, the quality is not there,. I know somebody with a Enfield Bullet with 7000 miles on the clock and it is rusted out, such a shame, i hope the BSA won`t end up the same.
My bullet has stood up well to 5yr of all year riding. My yamaha which is same year, similar mileage is a mess round stand and shocks. Both treated the same re conditions and cleaning.
Why do they do this? It ain't a Gold Star, It ain't even a replica of a Gold Star. It's a brand new motorbike design that some fool has christened a Gold Star. That's all it is! No different to making a new re-designed Reliant Robin Plastic Pig that looks similar to a Jaguar & calling it a Jaguar XK120. The whole point about the original Gold Star is - they were a bastard to start, a bastard to ride in traffic & a bastard to maintain in peak running condition. That's what made them special & that's what made their riders super human beings. If you bought an original Gold Star, you knew that you were 'riding with the devil', riding where the 'wild things are'. Definitely NOT for the faint hearted.
Give me a 500 goldstar clubman in original shape!! It doesn't have to go a 100 mph or corner like on a RR track, just bring back the good old days when a motorcycle looked like a thing of beauty and perfect styling instead of someones idea of a copy!! It's like a 57 chevy it just wouldn't be right unless all was the same as original!!! come on companies don't try to make a product "somewhat" like the original you just missed the mark by adding to a design that didn't need changing that's why they get big bucks for originals!! Just sign me caught in the 50's...................................
BSA for goodness sake give this talented motorcycle designer a job! Come on he knocks spots off your entire team put together. Look at some of his other designs. He designs bikes the way bikers want them to look. Oh yeah, and while you are at it, replace that ugly radiator that you borrowed off a family car with something more appropriate. You might actually sell some bikes then.
Difficult to see what this bike is for, other than retro looks it is too heavy, underpowered and susceptible to damage to be actually taken off road but would be a dog on road.
Dont like it . Retro is one thing but this oh oh oh how they have got it wrong . Looks crap and tubless tyres not great for off road. One bent rim and your out of the game. BSA fail again in the year 2024 How could they have got this so wrong. Like the Enfield Shotgun no place . Enfield is much better value for money .
I do,nt know ! lets face it ,,this bike is not going tobe used off road...but as a road bike it could be pretty good.. Tubed or tubeless ,,I,d allways go tubeless,, just fixing a punture is so much easier... At the end of the day ,its about price,, The Mash 650 X trail looks much better and is alot cheaper... I still like the idea of owning a BSA, but I,m not wedded to buying an Indian bike... I actually fancy buying a Mash Classic 650 for £4400 and repainting the tank...
I would like to see the same type kit for the club racer the same as the. Enfield Daytona. The same. Kit. Thank you for the opportunity. To give my opinion. Lemay. Nelson. Vancouver Washington northwest. Thank you again. B.
