I think Stellantis Is going to bakrupcy, V8 was their main earnings. Thé I6 Will be less popular and 1.2 PureTech isnt good on it too... So Stellantis can exist, becuase Vans, escpecially boxer, because IT has "good" engine...
Inline 6 used to be the workhorse truck engines with more reliability than a V8. Think about the ford 300ci or the Dodge slant 6. Remember the GM atlas 4.2 I6 from the trailblazer? It had 290HP, which I believe is more than the 4.8 vortec of the same year. All three of the I6 mentioned also produced very impressive torque numbers at a lower rpm then typically small block V8s while getting better fuel economy. And don't forget all the Japanese performance I6 from the 90s too. I think overall the I6 is one of the best engines created. Plus they are less expensive to make and more reliable than a V8, no balance shafts, and one cylinder head.
@@jamescarter6318I don’t particularly agree they are more reliable in a sense. They are easier to maintain and that’s a simple fact. The I6 engines you mentioned are much larger naturally aspirated 6 cylinders than what they’ll use today. Not to mention they’ll have a boat load electronics hooked to it and with todays trucks it’s a hit or miss if they’re going to make it 50k miles.
@@Sackmatters I agree there. Way too many electronics. Why can't it be a simple single turbo setup with a map and O2 sensor. I say more reliable because typically inline 6 have more main bearings and a stronger long block than a V8. But new V8 especially the coyote is coming fully Forged so it's up in the air now. But I know the GM atlas 4.2 can handle over 500hp on a stock engine. I'm pretty sure a 5.3 would be on the verge of grenading at that power level.
@@jamescarter6318to my surprise being such a simple engine the 5.3ls’s I’ve been in stock block stock internals with single turbos are producing roughly 600-650hp crank. I cannot believe the power those things can put out. I’m building a 67 mustang couple 289 factory ac chassis car at the moment. I’d love to throw a fuel injected ford 300 in it. Love that motor to death mated to a 5 speed manual I’d be in heaven. I don’t want the car for speed I just want it for style and besides I’m building it for my mother. She’s always wanted a 67 and I bought it for her to one day drive around with a matching 06 and 67.
ive got the 3.0 HO in my 2025 ram 1500 limited. def not the growl of the previous Hemi V8 but man, when those turbos spool, that thing takes off like a rocket.
They’re having tons of wiring and QA issues with these ‘25 rams. The engine might be cool but all of these new 2021 and up Stellantis products are garbage because of extreme cost cutting.
Love inline 6s for sure. Great bang can be produced from those for sure! With that said, I smile every time I fire up my TRX. We can all be friends here..
he’s definitely a ford fanboy. Honestly, don’t even gaf about what exhausts sound like anymore… i used to have obnoxious loud exhausts in my day and these days I like it as quiet as can be. My ZR2 HD gasser is perfectly quiet.
I can guarantee 90% percent of the people hating on this truck simply don't like the fact of an inline 6 replacing a V8. It doesn't sound all that bad I just don't think it belongs in this truck specifically.

They 5.7 is junk mines been at the dealership since March waiting on a new motor and it's on its 3rd set of exhaust manifold bolt now a blown motor🤦 It'll be my last Hemi 👊

Means nothing, not everyone wants small turbo motors. Nothing compares to a natural aspirated V8 and adding the mods on by ya self, the fun part. My 5.7 hemi pushes 570 without a supercharger or turbo.
Little bit of sound you can hear is crap. Why build a small displacement engine,then add two turbos to get the horsepower of a V8 . Just more things to fail in boosting a small engine for more power. No thanks, I’ll stick with my 5.7 hemi.
You're thinking of the Raptor R. You can get a new TRX for around $100k or less. You can get one with low mileage (under 10k) for around $70-75k. There're multiple to choose from also, I just looked myself.
the RHO is not a trx lol. it’s made to compete with the v6 version of the ford raptor. the new TRX will be replaced with a electric from what i’ve seen
Here is the prob. It is a twin turbo, with the split tri prong header is the worst possoble sound for an inline. If they did a single turbo log style center exit header, it would sound killer

I wonder if it has anything to do with the tiny 3.5L, 6 cylinder engine with red hot turbos doing all the work. But hey, faster 0-60 (like a Kia Sorento) is worth it, right? 😂 These trucks are a joke. What’s next, full electric trucks across the board with ever faster 0-60 and 500 pound batteries under the seats? I’ll tell you what.
