I would not buy this specific car never for many reasons but, You gave such a very professional explanation of this car, you speak with right speed, outstanding solo presentation, thecar looks very appealing inside a studio with good lighting and quiet environment.
Volvo knew what they were doing in 2015-2016 when this new generation was made. Its not to outgoing in the design but not to simplistic and this goes for the entire lineup. This is where it started and imo has set the bar for a clean and cohesive design. And this goes for the cabin too. Like Mazda I believe volvo really does put thought into the interior. It doesnt have a bunch of screens or gloss black which doesnt age as well as leather, wood or wool. Thats one thing I always liked about Volvo is that they care about safety as a top priority but they know how to satisfy consumers with the interiors without spoiling it with many screens that will mechanically and financially be a problem over time if something were to happen technologically.
But it has screens, whether it's many or not, they're there. The interior looks good for sure, but no European car is cheap to own over time. Volvo is is no exception, "many screens" or not. They just stuck a screen on the dash without any other redesign to that area of the dash.
Except their cars dont stand out in their class for safety standards now, they no longer get the highest scores, theyr'e no longer rear wheel biased and a super-charged turbo-charged plug-in-hybrid 4 cylinder is about as simple as a nanochip
I love your reviews generally speaking! If I may add, as a mom with kids, I wish you would include mentions of lower anchors, tethers and car seat tilt in all cars. These are key features for families, and rarely clearly advertised on vehicle website, so generally hard to come by. Keep up the good work!
It’s amazing how bad the center console is designed! It lacks the space to put away standard items like mobile phones and coffees of the driver and the front passenger. It was a headache for me when I want to put away a notebook. Good luck…..
My Rivain gets new features in a single update more than Volvo made with their new year model. Its sad that they seemed to stop innovating as I use to own 1 of these vehicle 3 years ago.
Too bad the screen now protrudes so much, but overall... it looks pretty stylish; still conservative, elegant, minimal. Not bad at all. At least the infotainment is much better now, regardless of the screen not being as integrated. You gain some, you lose some I guess.
@@jdc3636 I hear you. I'd just like it to be somehow more flush with the dash, but that would require a complete dashboard redesign. Most other modern infotainment screens protrude in one way or another, so I think I could get used to this. At least the software seems to be top notch this time around and the resolution is superb.
Hasst du jemals einen Volvo gafahren? Wenn ja, dann wirst schwer eine andere Auto marke nehmen. Mechanische Qualiteten, Sitz Kopmfort und das Fahren sind Top.
I haven’t been a fan of the 2016-2024 XC90s but I like this redesigned one, seems like a substantial improvement over cheaper models, I’m still taking a MDX or TX in this segment though, those two SUVs remain at the top of the segment in my eyes, the CX90 is another compelling option worth exploring too, however I definately wouldn’t advise anyone against buying one of these new XC90s
Great CPO cars after depreciation if you take advantage of Volvo's great extended warranties. Volvo equips the absolute Best B&W Audio systems and leather seats IMO.
Real BUTTONS for all those complainers... As a current XC90 owner - love how they have addressed the two things - screen and air vent design; and have kept the material quality high. Puts BMW, Merc, Audi etc all to shame from a design perspective. Also, hopefully the double wishbone front suspension deals to the biggest problem with the Current car.
I don't think people are understanding something. They have all-new fully redesigned car. It's the EX90. That car was originally intended to replace the XC90 and it was going to be discontinued. Because the EV market slowed down and the infrastructure wasn't where Volvo wanted it to be, Volvo has now refreshed the XC90 and this is another refresh, not a new design. There will not be another redesign of the XC90. It will be the same old car until the EV transition takes over. IF you want all new, Volvo has it in the EX90 and in the EX30 and the upcoming ES90. Other EXs are to follow but the S, XCs will not be all-new.
The only issue i see with the interior is the screen. The way it protrudes outward makes it look so tacked on as if it was one of those Amazon tablets… it would be better if it was kept integrated changed up the dash a little bit and then make it 11 inches. However I do question why the pano sunroof shade is color matched with the seats and not rest of the headliner. Thats a detail I did notice in that portion of the video.
Volvo did good with their updated XC90. They kept all the goodies we love about the car, like Napa leather but improved everything while creating a revised but classy design inside and out all within that perfect shape we all love.
Hey just a clarification on the digital gauge instrument cluster. You keep saying, in this review and previously, that you can put different things in there. You can not! Google maps on or off, then, when off, you just have a black hole with nothing in it. It is terrible! I have a 2024 Ultimate in Canada and hate it.
Why do Volvo launch cars or updates without full infotainment operable such as CarPlay being another OTA update later. I have XC90 Google and so far it’s taken 18 months of updates to make it more functional. The EX90 also will have OTA updates for its infotainment system ☹️
The engine and drive train starts failing at 60,000 miles. Look to pay $3000 to $5000 a year to keep it running. Volvo just put a nice bogy on a polished turg, worse durability that kia.
Volvo came back to senses? No 100% electric cars idea anymore? :) I told you they will do it sooner or later. Good for them. I hope they won't get insane with the prices, because this is the only thing why they still have customers so far - to be competitive thanks to the reasonable pricing.
@@CarConfectionsstill owned by the Geely Holdings Group out of China. Chinese owned…,might as well buy a BYD and make China even wealthier. That being said….you and your brother do some enjoyable reviews. Can’t wait to see the new 2025 BMW X3 review.
The only Volvo in the USA market made in China is the S90. All others are made in Sweden, Belgium or the USA. The EX30 was originally going to be built in China but Volvo will relocate the manufacturing to Belgium for the USA market.
The Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is based in Hangzhou, which is located in south-east China’s Zhejiang Province. The company launched their automotive business in 1997 and eventually took over ownership of the Swedish-made Volvo brand in 2010. So, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group owns the brand, but who makes Volvo cars? After being a part of the Ford Motor Company for a brief period of time, Volvo vehicles are now manufactured by the Geely Holding Group.
The Geely Holding Group does nothing with Volvo other than finances them. Volvo manufactures Volvos. Volvo is a Swedish company that now has more financing vs. under Ford which had Volvo compromised more. I know people have a hard time thinking a Chinese company will interfere less with a Western company they've purchased but that is the case with Geely Holding acquired brands. Volvo operates and is managed out of Gothenburg Sweden. There are branches in California and China but the main operating location is Sweden.
The truth of the matter isn’t where any product is made, it’s the standard of Quality Control and Management that defines the brand and its ability to meet affordable prices.
Looks just like the old one except now there's a big ugly tablet sticking out. Seems those guys over at Volvo are taking the Nissan Frontier 2nd gen approach on this one.
@@Mshi- I dont think so. Swedish marketing chinese manufature. But its not bad. Soon Chinese cars will be in USA and you will understand that Tesla is a piece of crap.
Oh no no no no boo boo!!!! Ain’t no body got no time for any Volvo!!! Us hot gurls just want them Bimmers, Benzs, Bentleys and RRs!!!! Volvo is just for old folks!!!! C’mon now boo boo!!!! Our phat yams deserve only the best!!!!!!!
@@rahimi4762 just my personal experience with 2 new volvos over the last 3 years, never again. Lots of things just break or can't get to work properly at all (the wireless phone charger for example, got replaced 4 times and broke every time again!!) What lies am I spreading over my personal experience?
@@rahimi4762 while I agree with that regarding Ford, no one should be owning Volvo but a Swedish company. Victorinox , Assa Abloy, Electrolux…..someone.
Nice Chinese car. It'll stay together like Chinese car. I bought a 2021, constantly breaking. Engine failed at 59,000 miles . $6000 later and on year later the tubo failed. Then electrical problems started. Never again
