I appreciate your mixing so much. You chose the scenes so precisely , especially those on the roof. I feel a mood of Hong Kong ,an island which is doomed to have no future, like the love affairs of all the characters in the movie. However, no matter how miserable it is, it was sparking stunning lights with east and west sentiments, like the neon lights decoration on the roof. Thanks a lot.
@@seaniandp Thank so much, you are a bosom friend of Hong Kong. We can keep all our everlasting scenes of this island in the deepest part of our memories, as though we were watching 2046 at the dark theater in laughter and tears.
After some months had passed when I saw "In The Mood For Love," I watched 2046. It's now been two weeks since I've seen it. I have never felt so seen in a movie until I saw this. The eternal loneliness the characters feel through this movie (especially Tony Leung's character) kills me. Loneliness is so painful, and yet, through this movie, beautiful. A bittersweet thing.
you can't hurt me when i'm listening to this...it is the peak of love and sadness...as much as you can take...cos it's perfect in both...nothing is meant to last forever...drink it all in while you can...
It's a beautiful movie with Fay Wong stealing the whole show, with her movement and distant looks like a silent movie star, very rare today. Complimented by the music and Christopher Hampton's wonderful photography; well done Hong Kong!
What strikes me is that as a greek i live in the country of tragedies, philosophy and democracy, of art and words and culture and the idea of something noble and 'greater and 'believe me that in the movies made by Asians i find all these lacking from my own 'kind', the greek civilization... it is like the Asians understand and digest them more than anyone else nowadays...
