An old hitch ball works well (wrapped behind the collar, and have used everything from a Toyota truck to a Nissan Sentra. A clean carcass, fewer hairs everywhere, and easier hide scraping. No escaping the silver skin though :) BTW, I've not done it myself, but I've seen folks use the hooves for knife handles. One fella I knew packed it in salt like prosciutto. I'm sure there's more sophisticated/better ways to do it now days...
I used to do it all by hand but the arms says "stop". This works really well and is the second year I used it. As I tell the kids, it works until I find something better. Thanks for watching. A
