it is not gonna blow up. the worst that could happen is probably accidentally disengaging the hose and have an accidental flamethrower until the gas inside burns out or if you could, close the valve or plug it so oxygen is out of the fire triangle.

I've heard one blow up so they can. I was in central London and some roofers had set fire to a roof. On the roof was one of these large propane canisters. It blew up with a spectacular bang. At the time we all thought it was an IRA bomb. I found out what it actually was by reading about it in the London Evening Standard that evening.
