I'm a recent new subscriber. Just catching up on some of your past videos. I've been to Heptonstall a couple of times, (back when I lived in Yorkshire) and loved the atmosphere there. I wish I'd noticed and known about those old stone carvings, the lintel, and such - it's been several years, but I don't remember seeing them. I loved Hardcastle Craggs, too and visited many times. I like your videos, love the little history bits combined with the beauty of the great outdoors.
Hello Andee and thanks for the sub. I'm a bit fan of Heptonstall. I think it is one of the great villages of England....so much history. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. 🙂
@@ChrisJB it's Andee, short for Andrea (not Andrew), but no worries! I look forward to more, especially more of Yorkshire, which I do miss very much ☺️
@@andeeanko7079 I'm so sorry! I did type Andee, I promise but predictive text must've taken over! 🙄. You say you miss Yorkshire....where are you located?
@@ChrisJB heehee, that annoying predictive text ☺️ I am now located in County Clare, Ireland - beautiful in it's own right, but my heart is still in the Yorkshire Dales ❤
@@andeeanko7079 How lovely. I've only visited Ireland twice and loved it each time. First as a student in 1993 to County Galway and then County Kerry in 2019.
A bit of a wet wonder that one Chris. There were a lot of good features in it. I donlt know about that house but the stone road sign, gate posts and the datage all over was fascinating. You guys have a fair bit left. Nice to enter the chapel and be out of the rain and even better to hear about your family. It's often like that once out the door it's a whole different matter rain or shine. All the best. Mark
Thanks Mark. I was hoping, if the weather had been slightly better, to go a bit further into the surrounding countryside, but my waterproofs were leaking big time. Saying that, it's only about half an hour away so will no doubt head over that way again sometime soon. Hopefully the pubs will be open next time too! Best wishes, Chris
Hi. Thanks for sharing the video. As a budding RU-vidr I’m looking for a decent waterproof camera to use to make videos like yours and wondered if you might be able to give any recommendations please. Thank you!
I'd either use a Go Pro Hero 12, or the DJI Osmo Action 4. I use an older GoPro Hero 10, which does me fine. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. Best wishes, Chris.
@@ChrisJB thank you so much…I’ve only just found out how to read replies to you tube comments lol🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I’ve taken a screen shot to check your info out thanks x
am ok ta. nice to see your still doing all your moorland walking. got me reminiscing about all the places me, you and your mum went to lol eg richmond, camping near cheddar gorge (when my brakes went on the car!!) lol
@@123janeybee I remember all those days out, including the brakes going, also Castleton and Chatsworth. Must be about 25 - 30 years ago now. Where does the time go?
How do David. It was the detached stone house, with the chimney and telly aerial on the very top. It is just out of Hepstonstall, nearer to Slack. Cheers, Chris
Fabulous Video Chris, played bowls Heptonstall many times and keep saying I must go for a walk. Really interesting, check out my Hardcastle Crag video 👍
I watched it yesterday 😎 Interesting that you mentioned Whiteley Turner's book A Springtime Saunter. It's one I've been meaning to read for a while. Heptonstall is fab'....some good Ted Hughes connections and decent pubs.
@@ChrisJB What I said isn't strictly true. I grew up in Heptonstall and the worse the weather, the more of a badge of honour it was to get to the pub. 😀
