This was definitely one of the best parts of the Death Knight starting area. You go into a huge battle to kill all in the name of the Lich King, this playing in the backround. Great work by the conductor.
"There is no Light, only darkness!" "Feast my children! Feast on the flesh of the living!" "Come to me, crusaders! I will remake you!" "Where is your Light now, crusaders?!" "APOCALYPSE!!!" - Arthas, the Lich King
Ultimaton100 The Lich King yells: So...the Light's vaunted justice has finally arrived. Shall I lay down Frostmourne and throw myself at your mercy, Fordring? Highlord Tirion Fordring yells: We will grant you a swift death, Arthas. More than can be said for the thousands you've tortured and slain. The Lich King yells: You will learn of that first hand. When my work is complete, you will beg for mercy -- and I will deny you. Your anguished cries will be testament to my unbridled power. Highlord Tirion Fordring yells: So be it. Champions, attack! The Lich King freezes Highlord Tirion Fordring in a block of ice. The Lich King yells: I'll keep you alive to witness the end, Fordring. I would not want the Light's greatest champion to miss seeing this wretched world remade in my image.
Soldiers of the Scourge, Death Knights of Acherus, Minions of the Darkness. Hear the Call of the Highlord, RISE!!!!! The skies turn red with the blood of the fallen, The Lich King watches over us minions, Leave only ashes and misery in your Destructive wake!!!!!
DK’s still have the best lore in my opinion. They are no longer mindless slaves to the Lich King. However, they are still cold-blooded (figuratively and literally) killers and knights of darkness wielding runes of death. They are only slightly less terrifying and ruthless, then the monsters that created them!
I love DK quests so much... Feeling this incredible power when slaughtering everyone opposing the Lich King, and this music - matches this epicness entirely. This would be so fun, if Arthas didn't betray DKs and we could actually serve him. But, I guess, It would be a bit hard to make in game :c.
I've never really understood the idea that he "betrayed" anything. Anyone who plays a Death Knight should realize that we were disposable. If anything, we should have had the option to continue following Arthas as part of the Scourge after the failed assault at Light's Hope, but Mograine's feelings got hurt. Just my opinion, but we get "sent to die" in every battle we go to in the game, so that one was no exception.
And then you do the same in Legion and you feel kinda terrible. One of the Story Quests of the Death Knights in Legion is literaly luring out a drake broodmother, slaughter her and then raise her so she and her brood can rain destruction on the Legion. Oh well, Death Knights gotta Death Knight..even though they're not as free as they thought they were.. Seriously, that's probably the best Class Hall Campaign in the game, and the Lich King has plans.
Listen carefully, Death Knight. For I deliver the words that will start a war. My judgment has been passed. Death. To. All. None can stand so brazenly against the Scourge.
Soldiers of the Scourge, Death Knights of Acherus, Minions of the Darkness, Hear the Call of the Highlord ! RISE ! The Skies Run Red with the Blood of the Fallen ! The Lich King Watches Over Us, Minions ! Leave only Ashes and Misery in Your Destructive Wake !
I may be a Crusader, but this song is still kick ass. In captures the feeling of being an agent of the scourge in the two minutes and fifteen seconds its given.
You crawl unwitting, like a blind, writhing worm, towards endless madness and despair. I have witnessed the true End Time. This? This is a blessing you simply cannot comprehend.
@masaru3585 Dude, if they made a movie about the Book of Exodus in the Bible, this would be the theme of Plague # 10. When the Angel of Death kills all the firstborn of Egypt...
I know I'm late, but the main composition is part of "Arthas, my son", the end cinematic theme from Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. The accompanying composition is part of music created for the WotLK expansion. The POWERFUL ending chorus swell is a continuation composition based from "Arthas, my son" that is a slight refrain from the WotLK cinematic music.
