Wow, this is awesome! I just mounted a 2001 300X onto a 1989 20-foot Arriva "Ski" open bow with a 5 inch setback from the jack plate (needed to accommodate a 25" shaft). I haven't taken it out yet, still working on new gages and wiring. I'm super excited. Can I ask you a few questions? Do you have a 28 pitch prop? What elevation are you at? I'm usually at 6400 feet (Flaming Gorge, UT). How much does your boat weigh? I think mine weighs about 2500 with motor and gear. I have no idea how fast it will go. I've had a 1991 Yamaha 225 two stroke, and it only goes 51 mph (which was disappointing)... I'm hoping for 70+ with this 300. Any advice? Thoughts? Thanks again, I love your video. I hope to post one soon.
Hi BCBarc, we do have a 28" Lightning prop, send us a message at www.oppenheimengineering.com for more info. We are at around 600-800' elevation and the boat probably weighs close to 2200lbs wet weight. Most likely if those are the speeds you intend to reach a 28" prop is too tall of a pitch depending on your gear ratio. Sportmaster or torquemaster, and what gear ratio are you running?
