I go to tears each time I see Jazmine make her acceptance speech for Album of the Year. I LOVE how she talks about self-love & self-assurance, not only for herself but for ALL ladies. It's a testament to why she's So Damn Dope AND why she won that award!🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ppl so quick to be mad at Bruno but praise Teena , Robin and Bee Gees WHO WERE WHITE! He’s doing no different. Appropriating is if Bruno DID NOT give credit to where his influence came from . If he were to say he came up with that sound himself THEN HE WOULD BE APPROPRIATING. Bruno since day one has accredited James brown , Prince, MJ, all funk and soul music since he was a kid. That’s what he grew up with. Y’all just have an issue with him because he’s Latino and Asian. Anderson is black and Asian and they both are bringing that sound back because that’s what inspired them plus there’s other cultures that apart of them that may not know the black soul sound. It’s not about WHO sings it , it’s about how they give credit to where it started. Bruno has worked with many of the remaining greats already that established that sound. Charlie Wilson , Bootsie collins, etc . Silk sonic is for fun. It’s not even a long term thing. Nobody is forcing y’all to pay them any attention but Bruno and Anderson are appreciated. 🙄 it’s simple but some of y’all lack common sense.

Why it seem like the new artist dont have stage presence? It looks like they dont want to or know how to, be there…songs sound good but they don’t capture an audience.

So for Summer to give what she gave is beautiful. And Ari Lennox singing with Summer Walker was how Summer was able to give that much during the performance... You get up on the stage, under hot stage lights, with anxiety, and see how you do...
Something about Silk Sonic isnt authentic… they seem like a SNL skit of black groups. Bruno got called out for appropriation (which he was…repackaging black soul music from the 70&80s and selling it to white America) then he went and found black friends and repackaged 70s&80 black music and is selling it to its own creators …lol its just that since he has black friends with him now yall fell for it
Soul music isn't about whose singing it. In the 70s & 80s there were a plethora of groups and singers who weren't Black but still sang R & B soul music! Ex. Tina Marie, Hall & Oates, KC & the Sunshine Band, Average White Band, etc.
Silk sonic is not a serious group. They said that in the beginning. It’s just for fun. Bruno always loved souls music . Bruno got the recognition for being Bruno. This goes back to him working as a producer and songwriter. Bruno is doing no different than Teena , Robin , Bee Gees and etc and they were black . Y’all wanna complain about everything. Bruno always credited who he was inspired by. If he didn’t acknowledge it , then he would be appropriating. He’s appreciating the culture that he was inspired by.
