I was obsessed with house of night when it was coming out and stopped around book 8. I recently reread up to book 8 last year to try and finish the series and dnf’d. It did not age well.

I think you should try Captive Prince by CS Pacat. It's a MM fantasy romance that's set in a very brutal world and its enemies to lovers. It's the best enemies to lovers I have ever read because the two main characters are actually enemies in the beginning so when the romance ensues it is so impactful.

I saw you got the tickets, CONGRATS!! I love this TBR and I am suuuuper curious to hear your thoughts on all of these, because we have very similar tastes in fanro. I have heard that J. Bree's The Mortal Fates has basically zero spice/smut, so that sounds like a great one for me. And let me know when you'll pick up Furyborn because I have only the last one left to read in that trilogy but I need to do a re-read, I think you migth like that one a lot! Happy reading Cass 🤩

You've got me interested in some new books😊It's great because I'm sensing a heavy fanro mood coming my way😁🍉🍒 Another fanro that recently captured my attention, and I believe was in Mal's list as well, is The Song of the Marked - a review said it was better than From Blood and Ash, and I love From Blood and Ash, and if it's really better it should be pretty good, so I'd like to give it a try and you might also check it out.

🍉 I really Hope you like A Promise of Fire and the Crown of Oaths and Curses by J Bree I haven’t read a book by J Bree I didn’t like 😁 and Blood Trials ugh I wish more people would read it!! Another one to consider even though I know she’s not going to be at Apollycon is Stalking Jack the Ripper not extreme spice but a little sizzle and definitely banter with slow burn 😍

For Elise Kova please start with A Deal with the Elf King. The Air Awakens was her first book and it definitely shows in the writing. It’s very young YA whereas A Deal with the Elf King is adult and imo much better written and plotted.

An Heir Comes to Rise was apart of the audible sale and I may have bought the whole series. I hope I like it. Also I take offense, I have been telling you to try Elise Kova. I also think Air Awakens would be the best one for you. I didn’t love a Deal with the Elf King it was very mediocre.

I'm curious why tickets are needed? Is it an event for which the author is paid to interact with his readers? I don't know the reason. I have author friends and their events are open to everyone. I believe that there is a coherent explanation why tickets are needed to participate in such events.

It's like comicon but for authors. So it's at a convention centre (tickets help pay for that). There's panels, tickets signing, and a bunch of other stuff.
