Thank YOU! I love the Tarot. It's just like deja vu all over again for the first. I've been using the French Marseille Tarot for about twenty years now for meditative yantras. It's the only deck I've ever known or used. Only recently I've turned to Camoin.com for deeper insight. It all started for me with Whitley Strieber's 'The Path'. Merci beaucoup!

It has been a couple of years since you made this, i just got the pleasure to watch as it popped up in recommended videos. I dont think its a connection but I just realised the world with crossed legs is like the hanged mans position. It probably has no significance other than a moment of "oh why has it took so long to see that?" Thank you for this video 🤗

Thank you so much, I was wondering about this. The Piatnik deck is a type 2 except for Le Luna. It has a face that looks straight at you.

Magdalene good but mine are different from type 1 an2 tarot Marseille cards you mentioned. They date from 1974 I guess. And have ref g103 by grimauld. On the back of the cards there is the sun and black background with perhaps sunflowers and stawks in each corner.
@wolfofcoins
@wolfofcoins 3 года назад
Hi! How are they different? From what I could google they look like a Type II, but I don't own this deck so I can't say for sure.

@@wolfofcoins Both i n color and design and no faces on the devil card. And other ones you mentioned. But they are 50 years old may be more.

@@kurtsteiner8384 Colors don't matter that much, I suppose. No face on the Devil's belly indicates Type II, but as I said, I can't confirm, because I don't own the deck...

I love the Jean Noblet fool card. I wish restorations would include that...ahem...certain notable feature. One thing I dislike about Noblet fascimile/reproductions - the obvious mistake of "Le Bateleur" - "LL Bateleur" - and he is missing fingers on his left hand.
@wolfofcoins
@wolfofcoins 6 лет назад
I think that Flornoy went for maximum of faithfulness when it comes to the original he obtained - and that one has been (probably) printed with a chipped woodblock, that's why the fingers are missing. But I've seen a reproduction by Joseph Peterson that actually gives you the choice: there are both cards with mistakes and "fixed", so you can choose which you want to use. Hi you missed the transition of force into la force ( feminine)the reason modern cards have strength as a woman. More than likely a misunderstanding of Noblets joke. Dressing Heracles in Queen Omphales clothes

Hi Madgalena! Loved this video, I have one question if you don´t mind. I just finished Jodorowski´s Book which I found amazing, and now I´ve started with The open reading by Yoav ben dov. I find they give very different meaning to the cards, specially the pips. So do you think it is a good idea to so called stick to one of these teachers or you´d rather gather meanings from both of them? (I know Jodorowski was Yoav´s teacher) Thank you!!!!
@wolfofcoins
@wolfofcoins 5 лет назад
I think that for better calrity it's good to stick to one system or, indeed, combine the systems, write it all down for yourself, all the things that speak to you, but make it separate from the books, at least for some time. Make it simply your own. However, these days I'm really more of a user of the "visual technique" (you can check out some of my vids on the Tarot de Marseille playlist), where you mainly just see what's on the cards and don't attach fixed meanings to them. It's freeing and quite incredible :)
@umamoon5585
@umamoon5585 5 лет назад
@@wolfofcoins Thank you! Yes I like that technique and I´ve seen your videos on that as well. My question was more about the pips, because I find it very easy to go with the numbers and their meaning numerollogically speaking as J explains it. Yoav gives more of a fixed meaning to them . Thank you for your insight!!!

I have a common Convert style deck and the Spanish tarot this one looks like type 1 except the lovers card with is completely type 2 . it says is based in a tarot of 1736 but no more information 😕.

Advice: you tend to look at your monitor, not to the camera, so viewer disconnects a little from you.

I understood that the world card had Jesus in the center for Type I. Also, a question: When looking at a card, should we orient the directions from the perspective of the figures themselves or fro our viewpoint? We think a figure is looking to the right when actually the FIGURE is looking to the left. Etc. Thanks for this great informative video. On Flornoy's website, there are comparisons of the original Type 1 and the reproductions. It's very interesting. Anne
@wolfofcoins
@wolfofcoins 7 лет назад
Yes, the World card is definitely modeled after the depiction of Jesus and 4 animals/evangelists. Jodorowsky suggests that we look at the cards as mirrors - so our right is their right etc. I find it helpful :)

With all the breasts in some decks (and the earliest Noblet for that matter) I'd go with a gnostic christianity and Sophia or some pagan influences. Just a theory to push ourselves a bit.
@wolfofcoins
@wolfofcoins 7 лет назад
Thanks! Indeed, I suppose it's clear that the tarot hasn't been only "main stream" Christianity :) Sophia would explain why we get a woman instead of Jesus. The Devil figure really resembles Ereshkigal imagery we know from antiquity. And there's much, much more... :) It's fascinating, isn't it?
@MagpieCrafter

I'm always saying that the binding of the Devil shows his dependence on our spiritual evolution and he's actually stepping down to burn our shackles not to create them... Mind blowing if you only dare to step out of culturally programmed thinking >:-) Pozdrawiam z Wielkopolski :-)
