From 1976 to 2010 on the way to 2112, it's our cover of a highly influential song for us. Hope you enjoy our Rush cover, recorded live at The Brixton South Bay on December 16th, 2010 when we were the opening act for Gary Hoey.

That's pretty tight, all players know the ghost notes and nuances that RUSH used to write the song, and take it from me as a huge compliment because I've seen RUSH live 95 times!!! Tell the guitar player the phaser at 1:21 sounds great!!!

I was all ready to take the piss at this...let's face it...who could do 2112 justice?....but it turned out to be really good!.....well done to the singer or covering the stage for such a long time on her own ....that isn't easy!

NIce job guys. Great to see younger peeps playing great stuff like Rush. The only thing I'd say is the tempo was a little fast at times. Drummer needs to sense that and keep everyone on even tempo as the song shifts from section to section, which is difficult.

@SteveUrkeI - Thanks! It's a combination of the bass itself (Warwick Katana NT), my Line 6 BassPOD XT Live and the backline amp at The Brixton (I think it was a pretty normal GK head). It all just sort of came together that night for some reason.

Well, this video >is< from 2011, so I think you might be a little late... ;-) MJ has many projects and is still in Lady Zep.

Great job on this, but I've yet to see any singer (female or otherwise) come close to Geddy's high range and strength on this song

FclefRules - yeah, tempos sometimes get rushed in the excitement of the moment. Humans, right? :-) The bass tone was a result of me using the house rig (which had no compressor) and my Line6 pedalboard (with no compression), so I"m going to give some side-eye to the house sound guy for that one. Plus, God only knows what RU-vid has done to the original sound...

That was the supplied backline drum kit (except for cymbals and snare, which was a Pork Pie, if I recall correctly).

Huh. Another poster down the thread said the bass tone was awesome. Oh, well... everyone's got an opinion. BTW, you do know I'm the bass player, right? :-) Oh, did you mean NO power in her voice? Go about four minutes in and check it out again... or not. Not everyone's tastes line up. Thanks for sharing, though!

It was the house rig, not my own amp. I had about one minute to adjust the tone before we had to play. It's more aggressive and distorted than my usual tone, but I still kinda liked it. Oh, well...
