Who is XTGFAMILY?
We are a family with 3 children. Julien the dad, Marie the mom, Manon 9 years old, Alicya 5 years old and Alex 1 years old.
We have decided to get out of the everyday that locks us in and to enjoy life.
Julien is a machine operator and Marie is an engineer in a pollution control company. Our schedules mean that 5 days a week we only see children for 3 hours at most. Like many people, that's for sure, but that's not what we want anymore. Despite our comfortable life, cars, house in the country, we decided to sell everything and leave.
For many years we have been taking advantage of our holidays to go in a Defender 4x4 with a roof tent, then in a cell still fitted out as a Defender, to end up buying in July 2017 an old military 4x4 truck of the German army (MAN KAT) on which we installed a fridge box that we have been fitting out since then. At first we thought we would continue to use it for the holidays. But Julien's dream finally caught on and it’s decided we’re going to see the world.
Children? 8 hours a day on the school benches, it's over! School will soon be in our house on wheels.
Our goal is to leave in October 2019 for South America, perhaps passing through Africa, then back to Canada. The duration ? The longest time possible!
But in our impatience, we couldn't help but start exploring other territories. We went to China in Winter 2017 and traveled by RV through 5 states of the United States in August 2018.
Follow us on our adventures! We will share with you our moments of joy and our struggles, and we will share with you the cultures of elsewhere and the landscapes that we are going to discover.
