Here is the Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh supporting 215 City of Swansea Squadron during their Freedom of the City parade.
The video shows the parade march up St Helens Road down Dillwyn Street, up Oxford Street, around Castle Square and then back up the same route.
The Band plays many good marches in this video including Under the Double Eagle, Great Little Army, a Military march medley and 76 Trombones!

Great to see a real Brass Band instead of the usual marching orchestra. Not a clarinet to be seen or heard anywhere.

I may be wrong, but I believe that it’s the only Brass band left in the Army Reserve.

@@Joe-fe4xi That’s exactly right. They were actually the only brass band in the British Military Reserves or Regulars for years until in 2014 The Corps of Army Music founded 3 full time Brass Bands that today are British Army Band Tidworth, British Army Band Catterick and The Band of the Prince of Wales based in Brecon. The Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh are still the only reserve brass band left though!

@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere From what I’ve gathered from the CAMUS social medica teams, the “British Army Bands ...” can still perform independently as the Band of the King’s Division, Band of the RLC, etc. Do you believe this to be true?

@@Joe-fe4xi Sort of to a degree, however it’s very rare that it may be the case. For example, when the Royal Logistic Corps were guarding the Royal Palaces during the Autumn last year, a Cornet player from BAB Sandhurst (RLC incorporated), wore the original RLC uniform to play the bugle calls at the Tower of London. However, you wouldn’t see the full band go out on parade as ‘The Band of the Royal Logistic Corps’ as they now all wear the No1 uniform of The now (since Monday) Royal Corps of Army Music. The regimental affiliations are still kept with each band as the fanfare trumpet banners and music stand banners still display the former band’s emblems when on parade or in concert. Does that make sense?

@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere Totally, I got a lot of conflicting answers from the different bands when it was first announced, so I’m not too sure they really knew either. But now you just get a near copy-pasted answer- “there will be no reduction to the number of bands and traditional Corps and Regimental affiliations will remain. A number of bands will be co-located to help maintain the standards set by the World’s best military bands.” That’s from British Army Bands Catterick

What a good display of marching and how proud they must have been marching behind such a superb band.

Kind of moving to see something of this class and dignity ... and beauty ... contrasted with scruffy, mostly lowest-common-denominator kinds of shops and other establishments. We are poor, but we can still hold our heads high...

+Laurie Johnston Thank you for this information. I did not know what the march was called and I have been looking around for it for a long, long time, in hope of trying to find it.
