This post TT chat with John McGuinness MBE was absolute Gold. I instantly recognise that John is a massive fan of the TT, I imagine his goal at the TT is the same as it was when he used to watch it as a lad and that is just to be part of it, to ride his Bike as hard as he can.
What an episode that was. John is so honest and down to earth. Loved listening to the stories of early morning practice and about the dunlops when he was saying about joey into kerrowmoar. Fantastic
Loved watching this. John just being himself and just chatting away to the lads. How anyone can comment on whether he should still be racing when he’s faster than ever and loving riding his bikes is beyond me. Loved seeing him get on the podium again at NW200 this year. He got the biggest cheer of the day. I hope he keeps racing and doing things his way, and people mind their own business and leave him to it, regardless of his weight or where he finishes. Great to hear Honda have a ride for him next year again. He’s a brilliant ambassador for them and the sport.
On the exit of Glen Helen the water was seeping up through the middle of the road, they hadn’t sealed it when they resurfaced, a cock up basically. It needs to be sorted, ideally before the Manx but, more likely by TT 2025. It meant rain flags for most of the 2 weeks, not great for marshals who have to hold them for hours at a time.

Trust me john i was a cyclists that rode 200 miles a week and rsn 50 miles in the welsh mountains until i had a accident which resulted in major spine surgery . You are the man and always pushing on so 💯 respect to you 💪

John is a living legend & national treasure, deserves a free pass to do the tt for as long as he wants. What truly touched me is how he cares about all the other lads & looks after them with advice/ reassurance etc , putting Ben birchall in touch with the right surgeon so he didn’t have have his fingers off etc etc I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets quicker but I’d happy watch him wobble round on a c90 . Special.

Really interesting hearing the chat about keyboard warriors and online criticism. I feel really sorry for the riders and teams who put in so much just to have f..kwits sitting at home spouting nonsense for no reason, without really thinking about how much it can rock people. Quick story, I bumped into John once with my girlfriend at Brands last year or year before when he was doing some kind of bike insurance track day. Only said hello to him and he chatted a little but I fucked off as quick as I could as I really don’t like to bother these guys, they must get a hammering off most fans wanting a piece of them.
