In todays vlogs we have met up with some viewer who are on their annual Hire Boat Holiday and we cruise together from Norton Green Lift Bridge to Etruria together before they carry on south down the Trent and Mersey Canal.
After the horrible encounter we experienced in our last vlog, this is just what we need to restore our faith in the Narrowboat Community.

Q. Why do you speed up some of the footage in your videos?
A. We don't, we film it as time-lapse footage. We do not have the battery capacity or data storage to film in real time as our cruises can last up to 7 or 8 hours. We use to the time-lapse footage to help tell the story of movement rather than showcase the scenery. We limit the amount of time-lapse shots we use in each vlog.

Heh. It’s a small round cake, about the size of an Oreo cookie, but with a sponge with orange marmalade on top and an overall chocolate coating. Apparently the ones by the original manufacturer are quite good... I believe I tried an inferior knockoff. M

@@MinimalList I think I might have tried something like that. Did it look a little like the old movies showed flying saucers? Two saucers, one flipped upside down over the other one? It actually doesn't sound that bad. orange marmalade with chocolate. Don't know if you were bought up with them, Micheal, but Jo, you should easily recall the Jaffa lollies of our Aussie youth. A taste from the memories.

Lovely, as always. When we first went along the Caldon Canal in the 1980s, the section in the Potteries was still in use commercially for moving ware between factories and/or warehouses!

HI guys great vlogs,im in stoke and use the canals alot to get here n there and i always read the boat name.....i saw you passing etruia a few wks back but didnt actually no you then(feel i know you now lol) but if you need any info on the area ..inside info on anywhere or just where to go what to do just ask....you were moored up not far from festival park some handy shops down there....or bowling ...lol

It’s neither balls nor murders I’m afraid... best we can tell it’s meant to be a Thames Waterman’s registry number. Apparently down south (where this boat was commissioned) there’s be an extra number prominently displayed to indicate you were allowed on the Thames temporarily. But that’s still just a guess. M

You earned your thumbs up in the first couple of minutes. I liked the discussion about whether to see the pottery. Too bad it didn't work out. Only 2 1/2 more years?!? Good lord, time to start planning your next adventure. You could cruise over to Belgium or The Netherlands. Perhaps France. They must have rivers and other waterways.

Michael, you don't like Jaffa Cakes? I'm not sure how I feel about someone who doesn't like Jaffa Cakes, how is that even possible? If you decide to reform, Aldi own-brand JCs are worth a look. The biscuits are a bit smaller, so the chocolate-and-orange to cake ratio is better.

More low bridges! Silly bridges! Loved this episode, i know country scenes and rolling meadows are great and all but i do enjoy me some industrial architecture porn. I think thats what draws me to channels like yours! Another awesome vid, you guys are rapidly becoming my fave narrowboating channel, just don't tell David over at cruisingthecut ;)

Hi guys yet again a brilliant video. You will have to try jaffa cakes and ice cream. We got our first boat 12 years ago, 3 boats later and we still enjoy it, we will never live in a house again. Keep it up can't wait till your next one, we went to middle port potteries and enjoyed it.

Love how you blend scenery and history with a bit of human interest in your travel vlog. And the humour is delightful! I started with the intention of watching all of your vlogs in order, but fascinating titles keep popping up, so I’m jumping all over the place and enjoying it thoroughly.
