Ahh, I was a child of the 80's--I remember the run on Cabbage Patch dolls back in the 80's. I wanted one badly but they were so expensive then. I lived in Louisville, Ky--didn't even realize the first artist who created these dolls, Martha Nelson Thomas, before this Xavier guy took the idea, practically lived down our street. Needless to say you could buy the formed dolls heads from local sewing shops then (the dolls were so popular) and make your own. So my mom sewed the doll for me and bought me blankets for her and everything. I never will forget that Christmas, it was magical because we didn't have a lot of money, but mom hand made me my own cabbage patch doll. I will say that the story behind this--bunnybees and a tree and magic "pollination" is way creepier than a "stork" story, and the whole video is really creepy!
