It is the duty of every citizen to check the legality of land before constructing the house. It may be private or govt. Land. I did not know is not the excuse. This demolition should happen all over goa
I find it ridiculous that the reporter is questioning the court ruling how can the houses built be illegal when the structures are existing for 40 years The ruling party always claims that court judgments are not questionable when the rulings are favorable to them so now why the double speak
What about Moti Dongor in Aquem ? The MLA there is supporting these illegal houses built by outsiders .The residents were alloted houses in Housing board but they all let out these houses on rent , and went back to Moti Dongor earning quite a lot on rents .
We can't just build houses in other states. Can we ? Then how come so many illegal houses crop up in Goa only. Goa is easy on law and order, Ministers are busy filling their coffres . Government should make arrangements for them to stay. How can they be just thrown out of their houses like that ? They have families with small children and elderly people. Give them ligal houses. They have served the state for 30 to 40 yrs. Every individual who do not have criminal background should be considered as an asset of the state. Make their houses ligal. If govt has provided light and water and roads and bus facility and necessary humanittian aids then now they are indians they are all our people. The people of india and they should be protected.
@DA-ju1ec I respect legality. But country rules are made for better living. They hv not done this mistake all by themselves, they are being helped to do so. Why were they allowed to settle at that place before.that to for these long yrs. Now there should be amendment in rules, nothing is beyond humanity. Check their documents. They must be having ration cards, adharcards and all other necessary kyc. If rules are made to crush human by other human then this is pure immorality, non national act. The supreme court order on illegal houses in communidade lands was given in 2013. And the person in power were playing to the galleries .how many goans have got communidade lands in other states in india.

I just have one question to ask...where was the Goan government sleeping for all these years when giving them water and electricity connections and paying the panchayat tax? Goan govt should be punished first. Yes I do agree that these structures are illegal, it should have been stopped initially. When initially these problems are brought to the govt, the govt stands with the outsiders. I have experienced this personally with the Sangolda panchayat. Sangolda panchayat is corrupt.

Whether they are goans or non-goans....first the Goan ministers bring them to Goa, allow them to work, let them build houses, give them electricity and water connection and after sooo many years come and break their houses?
