I have Asperger's, and I just got diagnosed at 26yo. I used to think my hard days when I couldn't bring myself to speak were just me being dramatic, but now I'm doing the work to learn other ways to communicate when I can't use my words. Sign language should be taught everywhere to everyone.

Sign Language is very useful in a variety of situations. Non-verbal, Deaf, Asperger's Syndrome, noisy environments, etc. I'm happy to know that you are learning an alternate way to communicate and express your feelings/thoughts.

My son and I love your videos! We are both hearing; he has cognitive delays…no hearing impairment-just enjoys learning ASL. You do a great job of displaying the signs and facial expressions, with plenty of time to practice along. Thank you for making these easy to watch/follow videos. 😊

Sign language should definitely be taught to everyone! I'm 30 and the only time we were ever taught ASL in school was when I was in elementary. I could remember hello, a, b, c, and book.

I’m learning ASL casually and these videos are great! I wish schools has ASL as an option, because non verbal communication is SO useful, even just knowing extremely basic signs helps

SIGN LANGUAGE is vital and SO important to know by everyone- sad it is only taught to so few- it should be mandatory begining from the first class of every school education

The good news is that ASL is being taught in more schools in recent years on both the high school level and secondary education.

Loved the clear, spoken voice, followed by the face, expression, and the direct hand movement indicating feelings. Well presented. Should be recommended to be shown in all schools learn a lot from your Tutorial video. If could, would give it five stars and above Stars

@@ASLLOVE a long ago, one non-hearing person asked me where all they could use their ATM card. i wanted to tell them they could use it everywhere but i didnt know how to sign 'everywhere'. i tried to google but i havent found any tutotial on these words.
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE Год назад
@@pravin8419 there is a way that I would have answered that doesn’t include the word “everywhere”. More along the lines of; ATM where? Doesn’t matter where, not important where, all ATM fine/good/success. You can use the word “everywhere”. I like the 2-handed version of this sign. Check out this link for a detailed explanation: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/e/everywhere.htm

ASL is more intuitive than any language I've ever learned, but I was surprised hearing about the number of sign languages. I had no idea Mexico and Quebec had their own. Do they have enough signs in common with ASL to fumble through a basic conversation?
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE 3 месяца назад
It’s wild right? A common misconception is that ASL is universal but for every spoken language, there is a signed language (plus all the local dialect differences). I only have experience with BSL (British Sign Language) and Spanish Sign Language (Costa Rica). BSL and ASL are completely different despite both countries using the English language. They are not even close. I needed an interpreter who was fluent in both ASL and BSL to communicate. Interestingly enough, there were a few similarities in Costa Rica. I can’t say you could communicate effectively through only knowing ASL there.

I just want to say thankyou for this video. I have a background in ASL sign language as I used to work with special needs people. I find sign language to be fascinating! Now I'm determined to learning it fluently. I'm just not sure where to go for classes on it so I have been watching videos on here. I'm also learning songs in sign language. Two of them I already have down pat, 1 still needs a little work, one I'm still watching the video to learn it, and one I just added to my list of songs but there are some words in this particular song that I'm not sure how to sign them or if there is a sign for them. Maybe you can help with that. Anyways, thankyou again for these tutorials, they definitely do help!

Thank you for checking out my page! Keep practicing everyday and it will get easier. The more words you learn, the more you will be able to communicate. Songs are a fun way to learn too. You've got this 👍

Thankyou for getting back to me. I'm doing my best to practice every day so I can get better at it. And it has been fun signing to songs. Is there a sign(s) for emotional hangover, layover, left alone? This particular song I'm trying to learn has to do with relationship problems. I know it's on the sad side but it's a song I want to learn because it's relatable for me and I can also relate to the person who sings it. It's just one of those songs. Hopefully I can pick up these signs rather quickly.

There is a particular sign that I use to show emotional pain that I think will get this point across. Check out the link here and go to min 1:14 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ov6q4qFhWbs.html I would show the sign for "lonely" to convey the meaning of being "left alone." I don't currently have a video for that sign but here is an example: www.lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/l/lonely.htm

Thankyou for your feedback! I really appreciate it. I did watch that video you left in you comment and went to the 1:14 mark, that definitely helps. Hopefully for emotional hangover, and layover we can find signs to those to add to the sign you used to convey being alone/left alone. Thankyou again. I'm also going to check out the rest of your videos too. 🙂🙂

This is sort of interesting. I have recently seen a hearing-impaired woman call the "Open B Handshape" you mention at the 0:26 point of this video as a "Closed 5 Handshape" instead. I guess they refer to the same sign.
@ASLLOVE
@ASLLOVE Год назад
I love it. It absolutely can be called both. I was taught that it was called an “open B” but it makes perfect sense to call it a “closed 5”. There is often more than one way using ASL.
