@@TomodachiTable Nevertheless, we wouldn't know the reason why Gordon made that ramen until he leaves a comment on Uncle Roger's video. Also, let's just hope that you guys wouldn't try to recreate and taste Gordon's vegetarian ramen. 😅
@@TomodachiTable In Gordan Ramsay defense,he has a challenge called Ramsay in 10 minute,we're he challenge other chefs (and himself) to cook things in 10 minutes meaning he to cut corners and could't afford to make broth and tare separately.
Really sounds like Gordon has to do something to redeem himself now that he's really made our ancestors cry. This ramen seems like throwing random stuff into a pot and boil But to be fair, the whole thing that ruined the dish is the 10 minute time limit so he's kinda pressured in a way. Come on Gordon, you're much better than that
Yes, but there was no need to put that kind of pressure on himself to make a dish that takes a few hours at least in 10 minutes lol. He needs to get his crown back!
@@TomodachiTable The 10 minute time limit was the whole deal of the show, have him prepare dishes in 10 minutes. I can’t remember the name of the show though.
@@WouterEerdekens IMHO, if he wanted to make a dish that requires hours to get flavors to marry, he should break the steps up so that the actual time actively prepping & cooking is done quickly instead of the whole dish. I.e., he could make the tare quickly, get the broth ingredients that need time to combine flavors made, do the marinade for the eggs, make the eggs quickly & get them into the marinade (same with the tofu), & set that all aside as long as needed. Then when it's time to put it all together, the flavors have the needed depth & the noodle aren't utter mush. Just b/c there's a time limit for the steps & actual time cooking, doesn't mean they can't be done in stages (which IMHO) could be beneficial all around! Edit: Sorry this was so long! I'm an exhausted chatterbox!
@@WouterEerdekens I think it was mentioned by Gordon or Uncle Roger & is something like "Gordon in 10," but I could be wrong. Gordon did plenty of messing up that I think it's only fair that I do no research ensuring my own accuracy here!! 😂🤭😂🤭
The only good news is that Gordon only spent 10 minutes to make this travesty of a bowl of ramen. He should have plenty of time to remake a proper bowl 😆 Cauliflower menma would have been an interesting addition, but he just sliced the stalks. Gordon did use a metal spoon on a nonstick pan, but that is a Hexclad pan. It has raised stainless steel bumps to supposedly keep utensils from scraping the nonstick pan. He might not be sponsored by cauliflower company, but he clearly has a partnership with Hexclad lol.
Technically, "ramen" as a dish is a noodle soup, but ramen is a kind of noodle. You can't use soba, like Jamie Oliver, or egg noodles, as Gordon Ramsay did here, and call it ramen. Other than that, I think Uncle Roger, and Tomodachi Table, are emphasizing that real ramen broth isn't a simple soup. My own 1st encounter with ramen was instant ramen, so you can include me with those who didn't know.
"Wait no, it's nori" That was EXACTLY my reaction, lol. I thought it was bad because he put konbu into boiling water... but no, he put in nori. I... don't even have words for that.
Agreed, nobody can make ramen in just 10 minutes, and instant ramen is not real ramen. That 10-minute challenge is the stupidest thing one can come up with if dealing with dishes that can't be made in that amount of time. Ramen can take 4-8 hours because of the base broth, even the vegetarian version. Also, if someone finds that video agonizing, here's a way to end the agony: have the people take a shot of sake for everytime he says "delicious". 😏
I meant to watch the Uncle Roger video but instead got the reaction to his reaction video. Oddly I'm perfectly fine with this! It's funny to hear the same comments coming from the Japanese guys & Uncle Roger!
I can feel your frustration there at 13:33. For me, a ramen lover, I ended up horrified at this. On another note, should you feel you want to do reaction video again, you might want to check Jason Farmer's "Making World-Class Ramen With Walmart Ingredients". I will happily say he understand how to made ramen properly, and he explains the method in detailed manner.
He should have just made instant Ramen with some vegetable and egg additions, that is how we used to eat it lol. Luca was definitely giving the side eye there lol!
@@TomodachiTable exactly! Instant ramen with some add ons would have a completely acceptable 10 minute meal. But I guess professional chefs can't show that 😅 Luca just looked disappointed at the end. Poor boy 😂
Hi Tomodachi's, sorry I'm soooo late! But still do you know what time it is 😂 it's uncle Roger time! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wCivJuVSF9s.html And *gasps* do my eyes deceive me or is uncle Roger making chili jam?
I find it strange how this channel is a reaction channel to Uncle Roger reaction videos, That’s a reaction of a reaction of a… yeah, *But I shall watch it, becus it is entertainment.*
Once again I find myself wanting to apologize for all western cooks. I'm in no way an expert but even I know that miso and ramen are different dishs completely. I can see getting creative with ingredient substitution in the UK. But,,,,,,geez.
miso in ramen is a thing (miso tare). But you need to prepare the miso separately without killing it, and add it to the broth at the end, like any tare.
gordon not you too why do british chefs feel the need to shit on asian foods i am honestly supprised gordon does not know ramen like stew need hours to make good not 10 minutes
